The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 800

The bodyguard took the golf club from Zach and set it aside. Madelyn put on her Bluetooth earpiece, and instantly, she heard Blake’s argumentative voice. ‘Wow, she’s really loud.’

“Do you have any shame? These gifts are obviously for my cousin, Mya. Trying to snag them before the wedding’s even a sure thing? Think you deserve them? You all act like ungrateful, shameless jerks. You’re just like bullies and thieves!”

One of the ladies defiantly pointed at Blake and snapped, “All these will be ours soon anyway; so why not take them now?”

“Fine! Take them if you dare!” Blake retorted. “But if you do, I’ll break your hands.”

Kevin gave Blake a thoughtful look, his eyes deep in thought. He admired her courage.

“Let’s take what belongs to us,” the lady challenged. An old lady gazed at the jewelry, thinking, “These are worth so much money… More than I could ever spend in a lifetime.’

“How long’s the sentence for robbery, Blake?” Kevin asked. Blake replied, “Between three and ten years.”

Kevin remarked, “Impressive! You’ve brushed up on your legal know-how. But remember, the items from Jardin Corporation are more than just valuable – they could get someone locked up for life. Always guard what’s yours, since not everyone has the privilege to handle such things.”

Mya shot a look at Luke. “I warned you she’d come. I want your family and friends out. I can’t face you right now.”

Another lady stood abruptly, her eyes wide with disbelief. “Why does she want us to leave, Luke? That’s a huge mansion. If not us, who’s supposed to live there?”

Luke’s face turned pale. He struggled to find the right words, his voice wavering. As he saw Mya turn away coldly, panic set in. “Mya, I realize I was wrong to pressure you into marriage, but did you have to humiliate me like that in public? I thought you cared about me? If you’re not ready for marriage, I’ll wait.”

With newfound courage, Mya looked him in the eye. “Let me be clear – I’ll never forgive what you did to me. I’m calling the cops to kick all of you out of my house.”

“You think you’re so clever, brat? To be a Graham, you must follow our rules and recognize that these belongings should be ours. If not, you’re not one of us. Blake rolled her eyes on Mya’s behalf. ” Like she cares!”

Kevin met Mya’s gaze, maintaining a calm demeanor. “You have nothing to worry about, Mya. Your father is safe and back home with the Harper family.”

Mya blinked, processing the information. “Is my father truly back?”

With a nod, Kevin replied, “Yes.”

Gratitude shone in Mya’s eyes. ” Madelyn promised she’d help, and she did. As for you, Luke,” her voice took on a sharp edge, “you’ve made a huge mistake.” Without warning, she swung her fist, hitting Luke’s nose.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
