The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 465

It seems every time she was with him, Madelyn would be reminded of these things. She had
obviously forgotten about them but could still remember whenever she was with him.

How did she ease the pain in her heart back then? The answer was that Madelyn would injure
herself and use the pain inflicted on her body to counteract the sadness in her heart. Even if
she were hurting herself, she would not feel a thing. She would only feel immense pleasure.

Madelyn found a scissor in the kitchen and slit across her forearm. It did not bleed the first
time, and her heart felt more pain. The second time she slit through it, it bled… The blood
droplets that emerged dripped into the pool and were dispersed by the water before flowing
into the sewage. Madelyn smiled.

In that pitch–dark house, she smiled like a wretched ghost. She slit her arm a third time. Due
to the pain in her body, the pain in her mind was receding. She watched as the blood slowly
dripped. Madelyn had achieved ecstasy from the self–harm, Her emotions found their release
as it flowed out with her blood.

Zach had seen her abuse herself before. When he found out, he did not have any worry or
sadness in his eyes, Instead, he took the knife and grabbed her hand. He then slit a cut on the
very same position. It was so deep you could see the bone. After that, she fainted due to too
much blood loss.

When she woke up, she was caged. Zach said that she had gone crazy. In actual fact, she
was not crazy. She clearly knew what she was doing. She wanted to tell him she was just sick
and needed a very long time to heal herself slowly.

“What are you doing?” A cold voice suddenly rang from the unlit living room. The next instant,
Zach turned on the lights.

The blinding lights made her squint her eyes. Zach walked over and snatched the scissors
from her hand. Madelyn looked at him indifferently. This time, she saw his worried and angry
expression. He grabbed her arm and stared at her with his dangerous gaze as if he was about
to explode at any moment. He asked, “Do you want to die so badly?”

Madelyn smiled through her tears and said, “I just want this spot to not hurt so much.” She
then pointed to her heart.
“I don’t know what to do, Zach!” Madelyn screamed, “I’ve been eating my medication as I
should and sleeping well… However, I still feel terrible.

“I even considered ripping my heart out and thought it would make me feel better. I might look
like a psycho, but I’m not. I know what I’m doing, but I just can’t control myself. I’m not crazy,
Zach. I’m sick, but I don’t know how to heal myself,” Madelyn rambled. It was as if those
words were for the Zach in her previous life.

Zach’s heart shuddered. Suddenly, Madelyn was pulled into an embrace. She could not vent
the emotions broiling in her chest, so she bit him on the shoulder at the same place.

After a while, Madelyn felt herself calm down. She could also feel the scissors in her hand still
dripping with blood.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
