The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1323

Blake wondered, ‘I’m now pregnant with Kevin’s child. What should I do?’

She woke up groggily when she felt someone carry her. She opened her heavy eyelids and asked, “What time is it now?”

Liam responded, “It’s four-thirty in the morning. It’s still early; go back to sleep for a while more.”

Blake said in a hoarse voice, “I’ve made an appointment for an abortion at eight o’clock. Regardless of whether I’m really pregnant or not, I don’t want to keep this child.”

She had thought about it all night and believed this was the best decision.

Kevin was going to get engaged. Blake believed he would get married and Audrey would give birth to his children. There was simply no need for her to complicate things further.

She thought, ‘If I choose to be selfish and decide to keep this baby, and if people find out about it, my child will be treated as an illegitimate child. I don’t even dare to imagine how badly the child will be treated.

‘If giving birth to the baby will bring it a lifetime of pain, why should I even give birth to it in the first place?’

Liam slept with Blake for a while. When she woke up, it was already ten in the morning, which was past the appointment time for the abortion.

She freshened up and changed her clothes before walking out of the room. As Liam saw Blake coming out, he hung up the phone and approached her. ” Blake, I’ve made a reservation at the restaurant.”

“I’m not going. I’m going to the hospital.”

“Blake…”

When Blake turned around, Liam held her wrist and continued, “Do you know the way you act right now really worries me?! Blake, I really don’t mind it at all.”

Blake looked calm as she lowered her eyes. “But I mind. I don’t want this child to be born as someone else’s illegitimate child. I’d rather not have it.

Liam pursed his lips. “I’ll accompany you to the hospital.”

Blake looked at him composedly without responding.

They arrived at the underground parking lot and got into the car. On the way to the hospital, Blake watched the scenery outside the car window.

Then, she received a text message from an unknown number.

The text said: [Liam has told me everything about you two. He can indeed use words to vividly describe characters and situations, eliciting strong emotional responses from readers. But in real life, he doesn’t have much romantic experience.

[From the beginning to now getting married, I feel like I’ve been involved in every stage. He truly cares about you. I hope you think carefully about your decision. If you decide to terminate this pregnancy, don’t regret it. And don’t blame Liam for it; this is your choice.]

Liam asked, “You got a message?”

Blake simply said, “Yes. It’s from Olivia.

Liam tightened his grip on the steering wheel. A hint of emotions flashed past his warm eyes. “What did she say to you?”

Blake calmly relayed the words from the text message to him. “She told me if I decide to terminate this pregnancy, I shouldn’t regret it.

“And I shouldn’t blame you for it if I do regret it in the future.”

With her eyes closed, Blake sounded a bit weary as she said, “From the beginning until now, everything has been my own choice. I know you’re doing everything for my own good. No matter what happens in the future, I won’t blame you.”

Liam suddenly moved the steering wheel and stopped the car by the roadside. Blake opened her eyes. “Why did you stop the car?”

Liam responded, “Blake, I did tell her everything about us. But wasn’t it her who brought us together?”

Blake turned to look at his golden- brown colored eyes. He wore a light- colored shirt and jacket paired with dark blue pants, looking very elegant. She asked, “When you sat at the police station entrance waiting for me, was it also her who told you to do that?”

At that time, Liam stood in the icy snow, completely frozen and stiff, while waiting for Blake. She felt very soft-hearted when she came out of the police station and saw him.

Liam responded, “I’m not good at handling romantic relationships. I don’t know what to do to win over you.”

Blake suddenly smiled. “Liam, affection for someone is an emotion that originates from one’s heart. You don’t need anyone to teach you that.”

She took a deep breath before continuing, “Let’s leave it at this for today. We’re still a short distance away from the hospital. I’ll walk the rest of the road myself. There are some things I need to think through alone.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
