The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 1313 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1313

“Okay,” Blake said.

Upon hearing her response, Janice did not know whether to feel happy or sad for her.

She wondered if Blake had truly accepted Liam or if she was acting like this because she found out Kevin had a fiancée after he came back.

The traffic on the road was a bit congested. So, Liam only arrived half an hour later. Blake had been standing still at the mall’s entrance, waiting for him.

He held an umbrella and walked up to Blake. “Blake, I’ll take you home.”

Janice saw Liam look at her, and she hurriedly waved her hand. “Mr. Xander, you don’t need to worry about me. I’ve called a cab and won’t go with you two. I’ll go back to the company to cancel my leave.”

Liam nodded. “Okay. Thank you for taking care of Blake for the past few days. If you need anything from now on, you can find me.”

Janice replied, “No worries. Hurry up and take Blake away. It’s raining heavily; don’t let her catch a cold.”

Blake saw the couple walking out of the A mall from the corner of her eye. She then followed Liam like a puppet and left.

He held Blake’s waist until she got into the front passenger seat before letting her go. Then, he took her back to the apartment.

When he saw the slightly messy living room, it reminded him of her previous style.

Liam put away the umbrella at the entrance before taking Blake to the bedroom. With unfocused eyes, she sat in front of the dressing table.

He brought a pair of clean slippers from outside the entrance and then crouched by Blake’s feet. He untied her shoelaces, removed her shoes and socks, and gently dried her feet with a clean towel.

Blake lowered her head to look at Liam.

She asked in a suppressed voice, “Why are you treating me so good?”

“You’re my wife,” Liam replied.

He managed to explain everything in just a few words. Blake did not know why, but her nose felt a tingling sensation. Her tears inexplicably began to fall.

It was said that genuine feelings could be seen from actions.

Liam had never formally confessed to Blake. He did not even tell her that he loved her that often. However, his actions told her that he truly loved her a lot.

Blake did not believe it when she saw the news about Kevin. But when she saw Audrey standing beside him, she realized that all her love for him was a joke.

Blake had now given up on him completely. Her voice choked up as she responded, ” Liam, let’s move forward with our wedding.”

Liam was wiping her feet with his head down. He paused his action for a moment and said, “Okay.”

He carried her to the bathroom to wash her feet, then dried them before tucking her into bed. He said, “Have a good sleep. Everything will soon be fine.

Blake, lying on the bed, held Liam’s hand. “Will you blame me for impulsively getting together with you because I found out about Kevin’s engagement to Audrey?”

Liam stopped walking and sat on the edge of the bed. When he saw her tears, he gently wiped them away. “Blake, whatever the reason is, I don’t mind. I’ve promised to stay by your side until you forget about him completely.”

Blake cried even more intensely. ” You’re so foolish! Why are you so good to me?”

Liam moved to embrace her, offering comfort without saying a word.

Blake cried on his chest for a very, very long time.

Liam was already sleeping face down on the bed when she woke up.

Blake caressed his eyebrows. He seemed to sense something and moved his eyes before opening them. In the dimly lit room, he looked at her hand in front of him.

Just as she was about to pull back, he woke up completely, grabbed her wrist, and placed her hand on his face. ”

You’re my wife. You can touch me whenever you want.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
