The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1292

Nancy and Macey, unable to contact Fred, worried that Mya might have been sidelined due to Ava’s influence.

They recognized Fred’s pattern of fleeting commitments, except to Ava, and feared Mya’s innocence and naivety made her less favorable in his eyes.

They speculated that sending Mya away for treatment was a strategy to distance her, which would ultimately lead to him abandoning her. Comparing Mya to Ava was no contest, as even they had not seen a woman more attractive than Ava.

If it were not for Frank Turner, Fred’s father, and his intervention upon discovering Mya’s accidental pregnancy with Fred’s child, Nancy and Macey would not have gone to such lengths to protect Mya and the unborn baby in secret.

As Mya was prepared for surgery and with no sign of Fred, Nancy and Macey had no choice but to sign the surgery consent form themselves, allowing Mya’s treatment to proceed.

Lying on the hospital bed, Mya panicked as Oak Joseph, the doctor, approached with a syringe. She struggled and pleaded, “What are you doing? Let me go! I don’t want an injection.”

Nancy and Macey tried to soothe Mya’s fears. “Ms. Harper, please just bear with it a bit longer. It’ll be over soon. Once you’re better, we can all go home.

The promise of home seemed to calm Mya slightly, and she became drowsy from the medication, her surroundings fading away.

Nancy asked, “The medication won’t harm the baby, right?”

Oak reassured them, “The medication is safe for the fetus. It’s been clinically tested.”

Relieved, Macey sighed, “As long as the child is safe.”

Nancy and Macey knew the grave consequences if anything happened to Mya’s child. They could not face Frank.

When Mya woke up, she was already back at the estate, lying in bed with blurred vision. It took a while for her to recognize the food in front of her, and memories she had forgotten started coming back.

Once fully awake, she reverted to her usual self.

Nancy, carrying food upstairs, inquired, “Still no calls from Mr. Turner?”

Macey shook her head. “Perhaps Mr. Turner doesn’t want Ms. Harper anymore. This is the second time. Hiding her pregnancy now would be even more challenging.”

As Nancy and Macey walked down the corridor, a menacing figure in black passed by, silencing them instantly. Their panic was evident, unsure of how much he had heard. However, he walked past indifferently, hands in his pockets, seemingly uncaring.

Macey nervously speculated, “He wouldn’t tell anyone, would he?”

Nancy, frowning, suggested, “Let’s wait and see. If something happens, we’ll call Mr. Turner Sr. He won’t ignore us then.”

That was their only option now.

As Nancy and Macey entered the room, they found Mya still asleep.

Considering Oak’s advice for Mya to rest after her treatment and not wanting to disturb her, Nancy murmured softly, ‘I wonder if Ms. Harper is feeling any better.’

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
