“Mm!”
Josie’s eyes widened as she attempted to break free, but she couldn’t possibly resist Dexter and could only remain frozen in place.
Dexter always showed exceptional patience toward her. As the kiss deepened, Josie’s legs nearly gave out, and she had to lean on the corner of the table for support.
She tugged at the corner of his clothes.
Indeed, in this world, no one understood her body better than Dexter.
“Dexter!” she whimpered.
The man’s kiss became increasingly domineering and forceful. Unlike the last time, this time it was like a sudden storm, leaving no chance for her to catch her breath.
The two were close, and Josie could distinctly feel his hardness. Her entire face flushed red, and she was unable to move.
“What are you hiding from?” He finally let her go, panting softly in her ear. “You like it best when I kiss you like this, don’t you?”
“That was once the case.”
“If you didn’t want it, you could have resisted, but you didn’t, Jo. Your body is more honest than you.” His magnetic voice filled her ears, leaving her almost numb.
She expressed her resentment. “You’re overthinking it. I’m just hurt so I-”
“Is that tattoo still there?” he suddenly interrupted her.
His large hand that had been pressing against the back of her head slowly descended to her waist. Her smooth skin was addictively enticing.
Tears welled up in Josie’s eyes, and she turned her head away. “No.”
“Liar.” Dexter chuckled lightly. He gently traced his fingers over the marks that once adorned her waist.
“I’m just afraid of the pain, so I didn’t get rid of it,” Josie admitted without lying.
“Is it destined, then, that you will ultimately be mine?” Dexter’s voice was very soft. He was holding himself back, not pushing any further. “I can wait no matter how long it takes.”
He relaxed his grip and entered the bathroom to freshen up, leaving Josie behind, who was somewhat stunned.
She gently touched her slightly swollen lips. The Dexter of the past had never shown her this much respect. If he wanted something, he would directly take it, never backing down.
Josie swiftly calmed her uneven breaths, a sensation of tingles spreading across her scalp. For a moment, she was unable to discern her previous state of absent-mindedness.
Downstairs, Grape had been calling out for a long time with no response. Eventually, she stopped shouting. When Josie came downstairs, the little one was sitting off to the side, sulking.
“What’s the matter? I was just working a moment ago.”
Grape turned around, hugging her plump arms, with the corners of her mouth lifted high in a smile.
“You lied.”
“How did I lie you?”
“You ignored me. Daddy ignored me too. When you were around, Daddy wouldn’t work. He would just watch you. So, you and Daddy were deliberately ignoring me.”
Upon hearing this, everyone around stifled their laughter. “She actually makes sense.”
Josie was left speechless, silently cursing Dexter countless times in her heart.
“I promise I’ll respond to you right away next time when you call me. I’m sorry.” She made a funny face. “Can you forgive me this time?”
Grape pouted for a moment and waved her hand. “All right! I forgive you, Mommy.”
Josie laughed. “Thank you, sweetie.”
The servant announced that dinner was ready, and everyone gradually took their seats. Josie rose, only to meet a pair of intensely burning gazes. It was Justin, staring at the red mark on her neck, his expression grave.
“What’s wrong?”
“Come with me for a second.” Upon reaching the corner, Justin got straight to the point. “You’ve reconciled with Dexter.”
Josie smiled. “No. You’re overthinking it.”
“Am I overthinking this or do you already have an idea? Josie, don’t make me scold you. Wasn’t the lesson from two years ago painful enough?”
