93. Her Mission Accomplished
Tracy got up to her feet, feeling flustered. Lucas approached and untied the ropes binding her hands. He glared at Zach and left the place with her.
“Come on! Is that it?” Zach was greatly disappointed. He had been ready to get back at the cheating couple, not expecting the fiasco to end so unceremoniously.
Bringing out his phone, he dialed Heidi’s number to express his frustration at her for not showing up. But only an electronic voice came from the other end.
Zach dialed again. The call didn’t go through.
He kept on dialing until his heart beat with a strange fear.
Finally, he decided to dial someone from the mansion. “Aunt Gina, is Heidi home already?”
“How should I know? Heidi never tells me when she’ll be back. Some days, she stays overtime at work.” Regina sounded nonchalant.
After hanging up, Zach decided to dial the security department at StriveStyle Co.
“Ms. Olsen has left already. There’s no single employee left at the brand.”
Finally, he dialed the driver.
“Young Master, the car suddenly stopped moving and the Young Miss decided to take a taxi.”
“Did she tell you where she was going?”
“I think it’s the mansion.”
Zach couldn’t push down the anxiety, but he thought maybe Heidi had decided to ignore him, and she must be on her way back home.
Outside,
Lucas found it strange that Heidi had left already.
“Honey,” Tracy called out to the man who had been ignoring her. “I- I’m so scared.”
Seeing no sign of Drake, Tracy smiled secretly. Heidi must have come here, and her mission was probably already accomplished.
Lucas was still looking around to see if he could find any traces of Heidi. Something strange tugged at his heart, and a feeling of discomfort compounded his chest.
Heidi.
He wanted to see her.
Why did she leave so soon?
“What are you thinking about, Honey?” Tracy pulled at his arm, shivering from the cold. “I- I said I’m so scared. Let’s get out of here.”
A foreign instinct, almost a gut feeling, kicked inside him.
Somehow, he had no desire to leave.
Lucas brought out his phone and dialed Heidi’s number, knowing that if she had left already, she mustn’t be far from LuxVille Residential Area.
Seeing Lucas hesitating, Tracy panicked. “I said we should get going, Honey. What are you waiting for?”
After hearing only an electronic voice from the other end, Lucas finally moved. He went inside his car and Tracy followed, sighing in relief.
Lucas started the car, the discomfort increasing in his chest.
Tracy decided to distract him. “Zach Olsen is such a terrible man. He’s a great trickster. Luckily, he didn’t harm me much, but I feel so much pain from fighting him. He wanted to harass me
Lucas took a reverse, his eyes narrowing. Not because of Tracy’s words, but because something hard was stopping the car from moving.
“W-Why did you stop?” Tracy stammered, the conflicted look returning.
She didn’t get any response from him because Lucas had already left the car. That hard thing was nothing more than a bag, and the back wheel of the car had crushed it.
Lucas squatted down and retrieved the familiar bag.
Tracy jumped out of the car, her heart pounding inside her chest.
“Honey, w-what is that?” she asked with apprehension.
“Heidi’s bag.” Frowning, Lucas rose to
his feet, his eyes, once again, roaming
around the place. “Heidi’s in trouble,”
he murmured.
If not, why would her bag be here?
Did she not leave?
“Ha! W-What are you saying?” Tracy laughed nervously, her expression twisting between fear and bewilderment. “Did Heidi come? Why didn’t I know?”
Lucas was more than convinced that Heidi got into trouble.
He’d left her standing in this same spot.
His eyes strayed ahead to the dark pool of water.
Tracy hugged his arm. “H-Honey, we have to get out of here. Zach Olsen might come down with his gun.”
Although the pool was dark, Lucas could sense the water bubbles surfacing on it.
“Let’s get out of here, Honey!” Tracy’s panic returned. “Please we have to!”
But Lucas pushed her aside. He turned on his phone’s flashlight and flashed it on the swimming pool.
His heart almost flew out of his chest. Heidi was unconscious inside the pool. Both her hands and legs were tied with a rope.
“Ah!” Tracy’s hands flew to her mouth.
As Lucas dived into the pool to retrieve Heidi, she staggered backward and almost fainted out of anxiety.
Lucas emerged from the water with Heidi in his arms. His heart beating uncontrollably, he called out her name. “Heidi. Heidi, can you hear me?”
Strangely, she didn’t answer.
Lucas placed her on the side of the pool and started giving her CPR.
When it didn’t work, he leaned down to help her breathe through his mouth.
“Honey, what are you doing!” Tracy yelled, her eyes wide and her face turning green.
“Call the ambulance! Be quick!” Lucas yelled back.
Their loud voices reached upstairs. Zach came rushing down, looking annoyed.
“Do you want to spend the night in my Villa or what-”
He stopped speaking instantly, seeing the drenched-up Heidi lying beside the swimming pool, looking unconscious.
“What the hell happened?” He rushed forward. “Heidi! What’s wrong with her? Lucas Harrison, what did you do to Heidi again.”
Thinking it was definitely Lucas’s doing, Zach grabbed his collar and shook him hard.
“I don’t know,” Lucas said distractedly, picking Heidi up.
“Where are you taking her?” Zach blocked his path, his pupils wide with anger and fear.
Lucas didn’t speak but pushed him away. Hugging Heidi tightly, he entered his car with her and drove off.
Zach turned his attention to Tracy. (( Now I’m gonna kill you for real. Tell me what exactly happened to her.”
Tracy trembled from head to toe, feeling abandoned and trapped.
It was too late to call Lucas who seemed out of his mind. Without wasting a second, she took to her heels and fled out of the Villa.
“Crazy girl! Come Back!” Zach yelled out, regretting that he didn’t come down with his gun.
He paced for a while, still confused by what had happened. Then a thought came to his mind and he ran inside to check the surveillance footage.
