43. Taking Advantage of Her
“Let go.” Heidi’s heart raced and she pushed at his chest. “You- How did you
She trailed off, her chest heaving up and down heavily from the sudden attack.
“You found the real jewel thief. On your knees, now.”
Heidi took in a deep breath, feeling gravely suffocated by his alarming presence.
“Lucas Harrison, how did you swap the jewelry?”
“Wasn’t it easy?” Lucas said mockingly, and Heidi’s mind wired back to the moment she stepped foot into the mansion.
Lucas had appeared out of nowhere, pinned her against the wall the way he was doing now, and even made advances at her, while Heidi fought him relentlessly.
That was the reason why she didn’t appear at the birthday hall in time.
Was that when he swapped the jewelry?
Heidi didn’t need to ask, because the answer was obvious.
“How did you know it was Stella’s doing?”
“Maybe you should ask yourself what gave you the idea that I would steal the jewelry from you,” Lucas responded sarcastically.
Heidi’s guilt returned. Knowing that she had mindlessly accused him. She cleared her throat and said, “Okay, I’m sorry.”
“And?” Lucas raised a brow, the sinister look returning to his eyes.
“And what?” Heidi asked, shrinking against the wall.
“Kneel and ask for my forgiveness, or I’ll make you pay for those stupid names you’ve labeled me with.”
His pupils shrank, turning dark, and Heidi’s hands wandered to the sides of the wall, but he blocked her from escaping.
“Lucas Harrison, you have quite an imagination. I said I’m sorry, isn’t that enough?” Putting up a brave front, Heidi didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of crushing her pride.
“If you can’t accept my apology, then deal with it, Mr. Harrison. Clearly, even if I took the matter to the police, they would have to investigate all the suspects, and you’d be on the number one suspects list. Weren’t you mad that Grandpa gave me the jewelry?”
“I will give you a last chance-” Lucas grabbed her arm, his eyes flashing. Apologize, Heidi.” ((
“I won’t kneel-”
The words didn’t leave her mouth. His lips crushed hers, kissing her fiercely and sucking the air out of her.
Heidi stilled.
Lucas Harrison was kissing her?
Damnit! Lucas Harrison was kissing her.
Her heart sprang back to life and it raced at a startling speed.
How many times had she envisioned this moment in the past?
She’d dreamt about it countless times ever since she was young, ever since she first saw him.
However-
A metallic taste in her mouth brought her back to her senses.
Heidi struggled and beat against his chest, her lungs longing for air.
But Lucas Harrison was unresponsive to her struggling. The man who had initially meant to punish her, now found himself delving deeper.
As her strange fragrance surrounded him, invading his senses, he wondered if the intoxication was only caused by the wine.
His hand left her arm, traveling down her back and stopping at her waist, pressing her into him. His other hand was exploring the skin of her thigh.
Heidi wasn’t used to this sensation. As much as she wanted to break out of this spell, a silly part of her mind wanted to cling on tight to the man and respond to his kiss.
However, the need for air was prominent. Heidi kept on struggling fruitlessly until one idea struck.
But before her knee could connect with his sensitive spot, Lucas’s reflexes were fast. He caught her knee and pulled back, breaking the kiss.
Heidi gasped for air, staring wide-eyed at the man whose breathing was also abnormal.
Then a taunting smile formed on his face.
“Smack!”
Heidi’s palm connected with his cheek as both anger and disgust surged inside her.
She was angry at him and disgusted at herself for almost letting herself get lost in the moment. “Lucas Harrison, you’re so despicable!”
Lucas rubbed his cheek, his eyes turning dark. “Heidi!”
“You’re a scumbag! A shameless maniac!” Heidi wiped her lips furiously, her lashes sparkling with angry tears. “How dare you take advantage of me? What exactly do you take me for?”
“Stop pretending. I know you enjoyed it,” he said carelessly, an air of arrogance surrounding him.
“Damnit!” Heidi raised her palm to slap him again, but this time he saw it coming.
“Don’t you dare.” Lucas caught her hand mid-air, his eyes flaming.
