155. Her Obstacle
“Uncle, you are being too selfish. Your actions can completely destroy the AG Group. Once that happens, I wonder which company you will run alone.”
“Well, if you don’t want the Group to go down, return the position to Natalie and leave.”
“Ha!” Heidi chuckled. “The day I leave this position is when I get a higher one. Uncle, stop toiling with the AG Group’s fate.”
“Heidi, I’ll give you one more chance to leave the Group.”
“I hope this is the last time you play a traitor’s role in this company, Uncle.”
Heidi hung up, intentionally irking the man. She stared at Isla. “Arrange a meeting with the Manager of that company. Let’s meet and talk.”
Isla looked disappointed. “Ms. Olsen, I’ve tried reaching out to him but his phone was switched off.”
Heidi frowned.
Did Harold Olsen have so much money to bribe the beverage company’s manager?
What did he promise him?
“Ms. Olsen…” Isla called out to her but Heidi was deeply engrossed in her thoughts.
“Ms. Olsen,” Isla called out again.
Heidi lifted her head, blinking. “What were you saying?”
Isla shook her head helplessly, sighing and sitting beside her. “I’m worried about you, Ms. Olsen. Every day, you become paler. Don’t you think it is only a matter of time before everyone becomes aware?”
Heidi never wanted to remember it, but now that Isla had said it, the old anxiety returned to her heart.
She touched her abdomen, gloom compounding her chest.
“This pregnancy is going to impede you in many aspects. Ms. Olsen, this is bad timing. We’re in a critical moment.”
The best decision was to abort.
Heidi shook her head at the idea, repulsing it.
Yes, AG Group needed her more than ever at the moment.
The workload was hefty and her body might not be able to handle it all. It would only be a matter of time before people found out about it also,
Before they point fingers and laugh at her, Before they accused her of being insecure and selfish that was why she went and fell pregnant for her ex- husband who was already living happily with his mistress.
Heidi sniffed, cursing Lucas again and again in her mind.
She stared at Isla, maintaining a small smile. “Don’t worry, no one will find out about this. About the workload, I’ll do my best to not overwork myself.”
Isla studied her expression, the sad look in her eyes increasing. “Ms. Olsen, are you going to give birth to it?”
At The GK Group.
Lucas had just arrived at work when Amanda barged into his office.
“Mr. Harrison- Mr. Harrison, you have to see this.” Looking overly excited, she showed him the tablet in her hands.
“This- This is the recent scandal about the AG Group. Can you believe that another big company is canceling its collaboration? It is only a matter of time before the AG Group takes its final blow.”
Lucas, who had intended to chase the secretary out for acting unprofessional, found himself giving her his rapt attention.
He took the tablet from her hands and read through the news.
“Another good thing…” Amanda grinned. “The manager of that company reached out a while ago. He wonders if the GK Group would be interested in acquiring the company. The AG Group has been paving the way for GK Group’s success again and again, Ha! We are sure not going to miss the opportunity.”
Lucas’s expression darkened. “Turn down their offer and cancel any future collaborations.”
“Huh?”
“Every other company we’ve acquired from the AG Group; cancel all collaborations with them.”
“Wait, What!?” Amanda staggered and almost lost her footing. “M-Mr. Harrison…”
“Schedule a meeting with the manager of the silk company.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Get. Out.”
