Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 110 by HusnaS

110. Trap of The Memories of The Past

The Next Day.

The tension between the family members of the Olsens Household seemed to have doused a bit.

Harold Olsen ate his breakfast heartily, his voice booming in the whole building. “Dad, I am sure you are not watching the comments on the net. Can you believe that the small fashion marketing brand, StriveStyle Co., is currently the talk of the town?”

Grandpa Jeffery looked up from his food. “Really?” He asked.

Harold laughed. “Of course! And we all have no one else to thank for this great achievement but your precious granddaughter.”

Grandpa Jeffery frowned, finding his behavior weird. “Harold…” he dropped his spoon. “Haven’t you been against Heidi all along? Why are you praising her now?”

“Haha, I think you misunderstood, Dad!” Harold laughed. “I wasn’t against Heidi, of course. There’s a reason why I have been hard on her. Simple. To make sure she doesn’t slack off and takes her job seriously.”

Grandpa Jeffery nodded thoughtfully. ” And you made everyone think that you dislike Heidi. I also thought you held a grudge against her.”

“I can’t hold a grudge against my own children, why should I be against my only niece?” Harold expressed in a light tone. “Dad, everything is in the past.”

Grandpa Jeffery nodded again and said, “Now that Heidi has won the challenge, it is time to appoint her as the CEO. When will the Shareholders meeting take place?”

“I don’t know yet,” Harold replied. “I am sure it might happen soon, though.”

Heidi exchanged glances with her parents, each baffled at Harold’s drastic change. Not only that, Harold’s family didn’t say a single word of objection as if their lips had been sealed with glue.

Harold turned to Heidi. “Keep up the good work, Heidi. Once you bring the brand to a new height, Uncle will fulfil his promise, okay?”

Heidi shuddered inside, seeing him doting on her. She was all uncomfortable inside by Harold Olsen’s strange behavior.

Heidi couldn’t even force him a smile.

Remembering the appointment she had, she didn’t partake much in the conversation. Quickly, she finished breakfast and left the mansion.

Thirty Minutes Later, Heidi stood in front of the GK Group, staring at the huge skyscraper. After passing through the security, Lucas’s secretary, Amanda, showed her in.

“It has been so long since you came here, Mrs. Harrison. I can still remember that day as if it was yesterday.” Amanda welcomed her with an inviting smile, taking her to Lucas’s office.

“That day you brought food to Mr. Harrison and all the employees on the same floor. The employees couldn’t stop speaking about your exceptional cooking skills for many days.”

“You still remember?” Heidi was surprised that Amanda hadn’t forgotten that event.

“Of course, I do, Mrs. Harrison.” Amanda chuckled. “Coincidentally, GK Group wants to launch a five-star restaurant soon. You might not be a registered Chef, but due to your exceptional culinary skills, I will be glad to have you join us.”

Amanda was always thinking about business and the things that could bring benefit to the Group.

Despite knowing the situation between Heidi and her Boss, she thought it a waste of talent to just let Heidi go like that.

Heidi shook her head. “Thank you for the offer, Amanda, but I’m afraid I’ll have to turn it down.”

“Oh, that’s sad,” Amanda murmured. ” It’s nothing. In case you change your mind, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.”

Heidi gave her a smile, her mind going back to that day she’d brought food to the company.

It was as if Lucas had been starving all day. He ate all the food, and even complimented it. Heidi was happy until he said, “The maid needs a good reward.”

Then Amanda found her sobbing in the washroom. She asked Heidi what was wrong.

Heidi wiped her tears, smiling sadly. In a careless tone, she’d said, “For several months, I’ve been cooking the foods. Can’t he differentiate his wife’s cooking from a stranger’s?”

At that time, it hadn’t even been a year since they got married. Heidi spent every day, struggling to make him notice her.

“Mr. Harrison is here.”

Amanda’s announcement freed Heidi’s thoughts from the trap of the memories of the past.

Lucas entered the office, and on seeing Heidi, his eyes shone with hope.
