Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 102 by HusnaS

102. A Lot Had Changed About Her

Grandpa Winston wondered if the questions were even directed at him or to themselves.

“Alright. Alright.” He stood up. “I am tired and must retire to bed. This old man can’t handle too many questions.”

Butler Luke appeared and helped him upstairs.

“Young Master, the Master has asked the servants to renovate your quarters. It is currently dust and sand,” Butler Luke returned and reported.

“Young Madam,” A maid said to Heidi. “The Master has asked me to prepare your room. Please follow me.”

Heidi didn’t know why Grandpa Winston had to trouble himself. She followed the maid upstairs and found out that the guest room had indeed been refurbished as if it were a room for newlyweds.

After Heidi left with the maid, Butler Luke who was standing beside Lucas cleared his throat.

“Young Master, please allow me to lead you to the room the Old Master asked me to prepare for you.”

“You don’t have to. I know the way.” Lucas stood up.

“Haha, but you don’t.” Butler Luke laughed nervously. “You see, there have been so many renovations going on around the mansion recently. Let me lead the way or you might get confused.”

Lucas found the Butler’s behavior strange but he didn’t say anything.

As the Butler led him upstairs, the maid came down the stairs, hurrying past them.

Butler Luke stopped in front of a door and he held it open. “Young Master, please…” he gestured with an inviting smile.

Lucas’s scrutinizing eyes accessed the room as he entered it. How did the guest room turn into a mini suite?

The sound of the door shutting snapped him out of his thoughts. Lucas turned around and turned the doorknob. Finding it bolted, he put on a frown.

“Butler Luke,” he called out, but the Butler’s footsteps quickly faded away. Finding it strange, Lucas turned around and proceeded inside the room.

Outside,

Butler Luke scurried down to the other wing of the building, stopping at Grandpa Winston’s bedroom.

“The job is done, Master.”

“Very good.” Grandpa Winston stopped pacing, and he sat down. “I hope our hard work doesn’t go to waste.”

“Do you think this plan will work?”

“If it doesn’t, I’ve already set up other plans,” Grandpa Winston said. “For this one to work, there has to be chemistry between them.”

“We could just order the maids to put a large quantity of it inside the food. Then we’ll be sure that the plan will work.”

“I’m not a terrible old man,” Grandpa murmured, leaning against his cane. “I can’t force the children to do what they don’t want to. Lucas is my grandson, and Heidi is my life’s savior… As I have told you, it won’t work unless there are sparks between them.”

“What if it works?” The Butler asked.

Grandpa Winston gripped his cane, his expression changing. “Then it means those children have lied to me.”

Back In The Guest Room.

Lucas stepped into the dimly lit room, his eyes looking around the new furniture and decorations. For a while, he stood in the middle of the room, feeling lost and wondering what the Butler was up to.

More precisely, Grandpa Winston.

His ears caught the sound of a shuffling coming from the door on his left. Before he approached, the walk-in closet was opened from the inside and Heidi stepped out.

“Ah-You!” She literally jumped at the sight of him, her hand flying to her chest. “What do you want, Lucas Harrison?” Heidi gave him a cold look.

Lucas looked speechless, his eyes raking over her body.

“What are you looking at?” Heidi snapped at him, panicking inside.

Because she was ready for bed and wanted to wash up first, she’d changed out of her clothes into a short towel.

Of course, this wasn’t the first time Lucas had seen her half-naked, but she felt greatly self-conscious.

“Get out – Get out.” Fastening the towel around her chest, Heidi pushed him. “You’re overstepping your boundaries, Lucas Harrison, which is so petty of you.”

“Heidi, wait-”

Heidi pushed him all the way towards the door. She reached for the doorknob and turned it.

Her heart pounded, and the coldness in her eyes increased. “Why did you lock the door, Lucas? What the hell are you up to?”

“It wasn’t me who locked it,” Lucas explained, looking helpless. “I guess Grandpa wants us to share the room.”

“Well do something about it!” Heidi’s panic only increased. “I don’t want to share the same bedroom with you.”

“Why not?” Lucas asked.

“Isn’t it obvious?” Heidi responded, wrapping both arms around herself protectively.

Lucas was a bit displeased, sensing the meaning behind her words. If he could remember well in the past, Heidi would intentionally walk around half-naked in the bedroom in order to catch his attention.

A lot had changed about her, including her interest in him.
