Helen’s eyes were bright with unshed tears. She looked pitiful as she knelt on the floor with a woeful expression on her face.
Kevin widened his eyes and shouted, ” Ms. Cartwright, have you lost your mind? Why would you beg a swindler like him for help?”
“Should I be putting my hopes in your skills again, then?” Helen snapped.
Mason’s current state proved that Woody was right.
Woody had warned them about the bone marrow biopsy procedure. It was just as he had predicted. Mason’s condition deteriorated, and he even lost all vital signs after undergoing the procedure.
Helen felt ashamed for her indecisiveness. Woody was the only person who could save her father now.
“You won’t be able to leave Tiusto alive if something bad happens to my father today!”
Kevin was taken aback by Helen’s words. He quickly denied having any responsibility over the issue.
“How is this my fault? I’ve done everything I can to help your father. All the doctors here can testify that I’ve provided the best solution for your father’s condition.
“If my plans had failed, then even the gods wouldn’t be able to do anything about your father’s condition. Your father’s time is up. This is just a normal life cycle. We can’t do anything about it.
“Instead, I can bring your father’s body to Kingsvale for an autopsy to figure out the cause of his illness. Hopefully, that’ll bring you closure.”
Kevin had gotten used to the rich and the famous treating him with the utmost respect. Naturally, he did not think much of Mason’s death.

All colors drained from Kevin’s face. He was shuddering all over as he realized Helen was being serious.
“Mr. Henderson …” Helen looked pleadingly at Woody.
Woody didn’t blame Helen for making that decision earlier. If he were in a similar situation, Woody might have made the same decision as well.
After all, Helen merely wanted the best treatment for her father.
Still, it would be too easy if Woody had forgiven her so quickly. He needed to give Helen a stern warning.

Kevin swiftly made up his mind to go with the plan.
