72- Getting ready for the ball
Abigail was getting ready for the ball. Hunter was supposed to pick her but it was getting out of route for him.
She insisted that she would reach there on her own. Though Hunter was persistent she warned him that if he would not listen to her, she would never use his credit card again. She also threatened him that she might give back the showroom and the house too. With a chuckle, Hunter did agree.
Molly was there to help her with the makeover.
“Moll. Please don’t turn me into a witch.” Her friend was applying God knows what things on her face, “Now don’t turn me into a cake. Hunter might not like something cakey but would prefer something spicy this time in bed.”
“Shut up, Abigail. Let me do my job, better do yours… That is to zip it up.” Molly gestured towards her mouth. Abigail was quiet for the next hour which was very rare.
“I am doing a smoky eye.” Moly tried to speak with a brush pressed between her lips. Applying lip color delicately she asked Abigail to press her lips together.
At last, when Molly was done, she was proud of her skills. Beaming at the masterpiece before her she turned Abi’s seat towards the mirror.
“Abigail, Tonight Hunter would not be able to keep his hands off you.” She was more excited than Abigail.
“I don’t think so.” Abi rolled her eyes.
“Wanna bet on it?”
Abi gasped when she saw her reflection. Molly had changed her into someone else. She was never too fond of makeup. Lip colors and mascaras were her go- to. This was not a usual hometown girl staring back at her.
“Like it?” Molly was waiting for her verbal response. When Abigail turned to her friend her eyes were brimmed with tears.
“Abigail. I would kill you if you dare cry and destroy my hard work.” Molly hissed.
“Oh, Molly!” Abigail held her hands. ” Are you sure Hunter would like it?”
“Abigail you are a wholesome person with so much positivity around you. Let me assure you. Hunter might have met more beautiful women out there but he does know that you are one of your kind. Trust me on this!” Molly clenched Abi’s hands which were sweating profusely.
“Molly, I don’t know if I am nervous to face everyone at the ball or excited to see Hunter’s reaction.” They both were giggling like two teenage girls discussing their crush and sharing secrets.
When Abi’s phone started ringing, she took in a sharp breath, and with a little enthusiasm, she received the call, ” Sugar. Where are you?”
“Just leaving, Hunter.” She said while picking up her clutch.
“Make it fast. I am here and missing you.” She smiled at that. “I am missing you too.” She said gently and disconnected the call. Molly gave her a thumbs up.
“Go, he must be waiting. And don’t forget to fill me in with the details. When would Hunter leave for office tomorrow morning?”
“Around nine sharp.”
“I would come around 10. But the highest probability is Hunter would not let you go in the morning too. Mark my words. Just message me beforehand.” Molly winked while teasing her.
“Deal.” Abigail shook her hand and after a tight hug, she left. It was a forty minutes’ drive and throughout that drive, Abigail could not wait to meet her husband. Her entire body was on fire.
Just imagining Hunter’s hands on her skin was enough to make her wet down there.
