39- Lusty putsy! “Hello, mom. Sorry for being early.” Chloe hugged Geena and then entered along with Kyle,“ But we could not wait to meet you.” Geena smiled and made them sit in the living room.
Abigail had not reached yet. After this dinner Abigail would truly wish not to mess with me. Chloe was looking around casually but there was so much going on in her cunning head. “You two want beer or something?” Geena took off the apron and sat on the opposite couch. “No, Geena. We don’t want anything. Just loosen up.”
Kyle could feel her nervousness. Before his relationship with Chloe, he shared a good bonding with Geena. Geena just nodded her head, “Chloe. You want to go upstairs for a quick nap or something?” She did not know why she was feeling so awkward around them. Chloe was her own child and Kyle used to visit them since he was a kid. Poor Geena did not know why this was getting difficult for her? May be after initial part it would be alright? Or maybe once Abigail would be here it would get better.
“No, mom. I have been sleeping the whole day. I just want to enjoy the dinner with you and Abigail. I can’t wait to meet her.” Chloe faked a smile, “and of course her boyfriend.” She shrugged and leaned her head on Kyle’s shoulder. She needed to smile alot for the whole evening. She reminded herself.
Geena gave a tight lipped smile and started staring at her toes when Chloe got up and sat beside her, “Everything will be ok, mom. I assure you. Don’t worry about Abigail. If she is upset with me… Which I surely know she is…” She face palmed with a laughter, “We will talk out our differences. Just like two adults.” Geena still was indecisive. She didn’t know if it was a wise decision to invite Chloe for dinner. She knew Abigail had become upset when Geena broke the news of Chloe’s pregnancy. She disconnected the call after hearing that and to top it all Geena wanted her to forgive Chloe.
Abigail had never done that before. But Geena was relieved when next day Abigail called back and told her that she was not only fine with Chloe and Kyle attending the dinner but also she wanted to bring someone.
Geena was more than happy about it. She did not want her elder daughter to end up alone.
Abigail was never a temporary dating person. She always believed in long relationships. But guess what… May be everything was changing now. May be Abigail was changing for good. She eyed Chloe with a little curiosity. She was pregnant and very much glowing but Kyle was busy in his phone. Were they both happy?
Was it a good decision to end up together? Because to her they felt like a normal old couple who were comfortable but lacked spark.
They were into it for just few months and here they were treating each other like … Well! They
might be feeling uneasy but did not want to show it to her. Kyle and Abigail had been childhood friends. It must be hell difficult for Kyle too, to come here and face Abigail. May be he was putting up a façade but inside he must be dreading the meeting.
The doorbell made her jump back to reality. “I will get it.” Chloe said excitedly but was dumbfounded when she found Molly standing there.
Who invited the bitch? Chloe never liked Molly. She could not hide the bitter expression on her face which made Molly smirk.
“You are surprised to find me here? Aww. So bad.” She was Molly who never gave a damn about any shitty person. She pushed her aside and entered the living room with a big smile on her face.
“Hey, Geena!” She hugged Geena and tilted back a little to have a look at her, “You look fabulous!”
Geena waved off the praise and made her sit in the living room. Chloe was standing But the words that came out of Molly’s mouth made everyone sitting there frozen.
She eyed Kyle and Chloe then laughed a little sarcastically, “Strange. But you never managed with a guy for longer than one week. After getting done with the lusty pusty slurpee part you used to throw yourself on the next guy’s lap.” “Kyle is surely… Lucky!” She winked at them, “Very lucky!”
