Chapter 57 We Want to Stay
“Doctor, are my injuries that serious?” Vania was a little worried about her condition.
However, the doctor reassured her and said, “Even though your injuries are serious, your life isn’t in danger since you didn’t sustain any internal injuries. Most of your injuries only penetrated your skin, but you’ve suffered many fractures in your body, so you need more time to rest.”
After listening to him, she breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you, doctor.”
Meanwhile, her three sons also felt assured.
After nodding his head, the doctor reminded the family members in the ward by saying, “The patient needs more care and a lighter diet. If there are any other problems, you can contact me right away.”
Linda nodded back before sending the doctor away herself. “I’ll keep an eye on her.”
Although Vania had just woken up, her body was still weak, so she began to feel dizzy.
As she resisted the urge to sleep, she said, “My darlings, why don’t you ask Aunt Linda to take you back home? You’ve already accompanied me for a whole day. All of you need some rest.”
Her three sons shook their heads at the same time. “We don’t need to rest. We want to stay with you all the time.”
“I know that you are worried about me, but the doctor just said that I’ll be resting in the hospital for a long time. I will need all of your company, so I can’t exhaust you all on the first day. What will I do afterward?” she urged them to leave. “Since there are so many doctors and nurses here, I’ll be fine. Please listen to me and go back home. James, you can come to visit me tonight with Aunt Theresa and leave your brothers at home. Then, it will be Jack’s turn to visit me tomorrow. In this case, you all can keep me company without tiring yourselves out. What do you think?”
Her three sons grouped together and thought for a while. A moment of hesitation later, they nodded. “Alright. We’ll listen to you, Mommy.”
Then, James stood out and said, “They can go back and rest, but I have to stay here so that I can see you all the time. It’s the only way we can be assured.”
Jack and Jacob also nodded their heads, and it seemed like they wouldn’t leave if she didn’t comply.
In the end, Vania took a step back and compromised. “Alright, that settles it.”
Fortunately, she was staying in a private ward that was equipped with an area for family members to rest. The environment wasn’t that noisy either, so it wasn’t a big problem for a kid to stay there.
Then, she looked at Linda and said, “You should go back and have some rest too. You can come here tomorrow.”
“In that case, I’ll send Jack and Jacob back home.” Linda nodded.
With that, Jack and Jacob reluctantly said their goodbyes to Vania.
As James lay down on a bed and looked at Vania, she gently murmured, “Go to sleep.”
He was still a child after all. After being frightened and staying up all night, he fell asleep the moment he closed his eyes.
With a loving smile, she also fell asleep soundly.
Meanwhile, in the research room on the top floor of the hospital, a slender man in a white coat came out of the laboratory and went straight back to his office.
When he saw the man sitting on his seat, he revealed a wide smile and said, “Oh my, what brings you here today, President Luke?”
The man speaking was Hanson’s friend, April Sonnet.
The Sonnet Family had been involved in the medical industry for centuries, and April was their youngest prodigy. A few years ago, he was even named a medical expert on an international level.
However, compared to Hanson’s cold attitude, he had an attractive pair of blossom eyes with a charming smile, giving him a ladies’ man look.
Ignoring his weird aura, Hanson gave him a cold glare.
However, April didn’t feel awkward at all as he chuckled and sat across from Hanson. “How did you find the time to see me today? Is there anything I can help you with?” he said cheerfully.
