An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1230
The crowd had never seen such a bold move. In broad daylight, Dustin daringly stormed into the Grant mansion and captured Vlad. It was a risky move, like walking a tightrope without a safety net.
Vlad sneered, “Hey, brat! Can you see that? You’re surrounded. My family’s soldiers are standing all around. What makes you think you can take me on?”
He continued to taunt, “If you want to live, let go and surrender. Kneel and beg for mercy. Maybe then, I’ll spare you.”
“You want trouble?” Dustin grabbed Vlad by the neck and slowly lifted him with a chilling glare. “What, you dare touch me?” Vlad sneered. He remained fearless and taunted, “If you touch me, you’ll die, and your family and friends will suffer the same fate.”
He continued, “Oh, and your woman, she’s in my basement. If anything happens to me, my men will rape her. Come on! Test me. Let’s see if you can handle the consequences.”
Vlad laughed arrogantly. He seemed confident that personal courage could do nothing against overwhelming power.
The Grant family had many capable people and a strong army. Despite Dustin’s skills, he couldn’t cause a riot. “Do you really think I won’t kill you? Or do you think you can control me?” Dustin questioned him coldly.
“Do you dare? Open your eyes and see. You’re trapped. Your only option is to surrender,” Vlad taunted.
“Dustin! Let Vlad go now and give us the treasure map, or Natasha’s family and you will pay with your lives!” Kate threatened sharply.
“You have hostages, and so do I. It’s tit for tat,” Dustin retorted, suppressing his anger. If he weren’t concerned for Natasha’s safety, he would have already launched a deadly assault on everyone.
“A tit for tat?” Kate hesitated and looked at Tyler approvingly.
Tyler remained silent but nodded. In front of the audience, he had to keep up appearances as head of the Grant family. Besides, Dustin would eventually meet his end, so it couldn’t hurt to spare him for now.
“You two, bring in the injured guy,” Kate instructed the guards. After a moment, Hector was dragged over. He was covered in wounds and barely conscious. His path was marred by a trail of gruesome blood.
“Mr. Harmon?” Dustin’s expression changed instantly. Hector lay at death’s door, bearing innumerable injuries. Wound covered every visible skin on his body; it was a truly horrifying sight.
“You shouldn’t have come,” Hector said weakly, his voice feeble. If the Grants’ mansion was a dangerous trap, Dustin’s arrival was a suicidal choice.
“Kate! You’re a monster! You even harmed your uncle!” Dustin couldn’t suppress his anger. He had initially thought that only Natasha had been captured, but now Hector had also endured severe torture.
“Enough talk! Release the hostage now!
Kate ordered.
“Release Natasha, too!” Dustin gritted his teeth. “Impossible! You just said, ‘a tit for tat. ‘To free Natasha, you must hand over the treasure map,” Kate insisted.
“Fine.” Dustin immediately agreed, knowing that Hector’s life was hanging by a thread. Hence, Hector’s survival now hinges on urgent medical attention.
“Take this old man over there,” Kate gestured, instructing two guards to carry Hector. Dustin slowly let go of Vlad.
“Damn it!” Vlad rubbed his swollen neck and glared fiercely at Dustin. Then, he turned and walked toward the Grant family’s side. The two sides exchanged hostages. But as Vlad passed by Hector, his expression suddenly turned savage.
“Go to hell!”
Suddenly, Vlad drew a knife and plunged it into Hector’s back, dealing him a fatal blow. A bone-chilling moment followed.
