Chapter 728 Make Yourself at Home
After all, Wanda knew that some things couldn’t be rushed. “If that’s the case, we’ll have a meal next time when you’re free.”
Nicholas nodded. “Is there anything else?”
Knowing that he was hoping for her to leave, Wanda wisely took the initiative to see herself out. After walking out of the Sawyer Group, she looked back at the office where Nicholas was, feeling a little unhappy. However, she didn’t give up. In the afternoon, she bought a gift and went to Sawyer Residence to visit Remus.
When Remus learned that Wanda was there to visit, he came out of the study and went downstairs happily.
“Why did you come here today, Wanda?”
“Old Master Sawyer.”
Seeing that Remus had come down, Wanda quickly got up from the couch and greeted him politely.
Seeing such a dignified and polite girl, Remus felt even happier about the girl that he already liked.
“Why are you so uptight? Take a seat and make yourself at home.”
He greeted Wanda with a kind smile and sat down, then asked with concern, “Have you found a building for your company?”
He actually knew what Wanda was doing these days.
“Yes. It’s being renovated now.”
Wanda gave a general overview of the company’s situation.
Remus nodded again and again. “If you need anything, just go to Nicholas for help.”
“Well, Nicholas has already helped me a lot.”
Wanda did not deliberately reveal that Nicholas ignored her.
On the contrary, she said a lot of good things about Nicholas in front of Remus. “If it weren’t for Nicholas’ help this time, I might not be able to make decisions about the company so quickly. When I have time, I have to thank Nicholas too. I’ve troubled you all too much recently.”
“Well, your grandfather entrusted you to us, so it’s only right for Nicholas and the others to take care of you.”
Even though Remus said so, he liked Wanda more and more and felt that this girl was very sensible.
Halfway through, while Wanda was going to the bathroom, Remus asked Ian to inform Nicholas to come to Sawyer Residence for dinner at night.
When Wanda came back, she happened to hear Ian calling Nicholas.
“Master Nicholas, Old Master Sawyer asked you to come to Sawyer Residence for dinner tonight.”
Although she didn’t know what Nicholas answered, after hearing what Ian said, she knew that Nicholas had agreed.
Afterward, she pretended not to know anything and went back to the living room to chat with Remus.
That night, Nicholas arrived at Sawyer Residence. As soon as he entered the living room, he saw Wanda sitting on the couch. Frowning slightly, he asked, “Why are you here?”
Wanda looked at the grim man who walked in from the outside, her eyes glinting with pleasure.
“I heard that Old Master Sawyer likes to drink tea, so I brought some over as a gift. I have to go to the company to supervise work later, but I didn’t expect to see you here.”
Nicholas nodded casually. In fact, he already knew in his heart that his grandfather’s intention to call him over was not just for dinner. However, he didn’t care because no matter what Remus wanted to do, it would only be a waste of time. He would not and could not compromise on this.
During the meal, looking at Nicholas, who hardly ever talked to Wanda, Remus was a little annoyed.
With a stern face, he said to Nicholas, “Now Wanda is starting her own business in the country by herself, and she has no relatives to help her out. You should try to help her as much as possible.”
Nicholas didn’t speak as he was very aware of what Remus was playing at.
Remus didn’t care but continued to advise, “When Wanda’s company launches successfully, you should help more with the business, and don’t let malicious people bully Wanda.”
Hearing Remus’ words, Wanda looked at Nicholas with anticipation.
Unfortunately, the man looked cold and didn’t seem to care to express his intention.
In order not to offend him, Wanda took the initiative to reject Remus’ proposal.
“Old Master Sawyer, there’s no need. I would like to try things out myself first when starting a business. How can I rely on others for everything?”
Seeing Wanda showing her hard-working and adaptable side, Remus felt even more satisfied.
