So, Tessa changed the topic, “Since Miss Hathaway has left, who is in charge of the orchestra now?” “Mr. Brooks. He took a week off to settle everything here. He intends to further his studies abroad.”
Mona hesitated for a moment as she wasn’t sure how to express herself. Tessa noticed her unusual expression and prompted her, “Do you have something you want to tell me?”
“Yes. Mr. Brooks wants me to further my studies as well and return to direct the orchestra,” Mona blurted before releasing a sigh. Tessa didn’t understand why Mona was hesitating since this was a good thing.
So, she answered supportively, “If you have the chance to further your studies, I will encourage you to go. Even though you’re a competent musician, it’s always good to take the opportunity to improve your skills further.”
“I know. Actually, I’ve already booked the flight. So, I’m going to leave with Mr. Brooks. I came here today to say goodbye,” Mina nodded and finally revealed the intention behind her visit. Tessa was taken aback and said with a laugh, “That’s great. So, I’m the last one to know? Am I even your best friend?”
“I was really conflicted about this. But Mr. Brooks didn’t stop convincing me, and I only made the decision last night to accompany him on this trip,” Mona rushed to explain.
Yet, Tessa eventually caught on to something as Mona kept mentioning Scott throughout their conversation. ‘Mona, do you realize you’ve been mentioning Mr. Brooks a lot more than usual? It’s almost every other sentence. You and him…” Tessa trailed off, but Mona understood what she was hinting at.
Although she was slightly bashful at being caught red-handed, she still openly admitted. her feelings, ‘Yes. I like Mr. Brooks, and I’m pursuing him now.”
Tessa was stunned as she didn’t expect Mona to admit it so straightforwardly. As she came to her senses, she wished sincerely, “Then, I hope things go well for you. I can’t wait to hear the good news the next time we meet.”
In the blink of an eye, two weeks had passed, and it was the day for Group Two’s performance ever since Tessa took over its management. Early in the morning, Tessa and the Group Two members were like busy bees as they made the final tunings in the theater.
At the same time, Nicholas carried Gordon and held Gregory’s hand as they exited Vienna International Airport through the VIP walkway. Soon, their outstanding appearance caught the attention of many tourists.
Some women wanted to make a move but quickly dispelled that thought by the coldness Nicholas exuded. “Daddy, Mommy will be very surprised to see us, right?” Gregory exclaimed as he bounced on his seat in the car.
Nicholas nodded lightly as he gently carried Gordon. Tessa didn’t know the surprise that was awaiting her. After a day of rehearsals, it was finally showtime.
That night, the theater was packed, and not a seat was left empty. Tessa also sent invitations to seniors that she was close with. Hence, Louis and the rest were also in attendance.
At 8.00PPM, the show started as the members of Group Two stepped onto the stage one after another. All the songs they performed that night were newly composed by Tessa. Each piece gave people a warm, happy, and sweet feeling, enthralling them like a siren song.
As expected, the performance was a rousing success, and it received unanimous praise from the distinguished guests from the audience.
“It’s a pity we couldn’t listen to Tessa play. But I could feel from her composition that her skills hadn’t declined during her break. Instead, it’s clear for all to see that she has improved considerably.”
“Sofia, I have a feeling this student of yours will soon surpass all your other students in a few years.” “The composition tonight is truly one that soothes the soul. It even possesses the quality of gaining the audience’s attention from the beginning to the end.”
Sofia was elated to hear everyone’s genuine praise for Tessa, Gregory and Nicholas felt the same as they heard those praises as they hid amongst the crowd.
