Chapter 940 Introduction
Early in the morning, Jared and Theodore dropped Anne and Andrew off at the airport.
On the way back to the Department of Justice, Jared asked Theodore, “General Jackson, will any big shots attend the banquet?”
Looking at Jared, Theodore shook his head and answered, “I’m not sure about it. Since the banquet is organized by the higher-ups, I don’t have the guest list. However, I think Mr. Cadden from Senary Porta will be attending it.”
“Are you referring to Jermaine Cadden?” Jared wanted to be sure.
“Yes, it’s him. You used to treat his son in the past.” Theodore nodded.
After giving it some thought, Jared instructed, “General Jackson, can we visit Mr. Cadden now? After all, my true strength has been exposed. Besides, I have the draconic essence and Dragonslayer Sword now. I reckon many prominent families in Jadeborough are keeping an eye on me. As such, I think-”
“No problem. We can go now. I understand that the prominent families won’t be scared of the Department of Justice.”
Theodore understood Jared’s concern. It was why Theodore invited Warren, the director of the Warriors Alliance, to save Jared. Now that the tournament was over, he couldn’t be sure if the Warriors Alliance would continue to vouch for Jared.
Soon, their car pulled over at Jermaine’s residence. After asking the guard to report to Jermaine, Theodore led Jared into the villa.
“Mr. Chance.”
Jermaine came up to Jared politely and held his hand once he saw Jared.
Jermaine didn’t act like a big shot, for he remained grateful to Jared for saving his son in the past.
“Mr. Cadden, sorry for the abrupt visit,” Jared greeted courteously.
“Mr. Chance, you’re always welcomed to my residence. I’ll never forget that you’ve rescued my son. Besides, we’re all grateful to you for representing the Department of Justice in the battle and killing Ichiro from Jetroina,” said Jermaine beaming with joy.
Then, Jermaine invited Jared to take a seat and made some tea for him. Jared couldn’t help but feel shy.
After making tea, Jermaine sat down and asked, “Mr. Chance, are you here to seek my help? Please tell me what you need. As long as I can fulfill it, I’ll lend a hand.”
Jermaine initially thought Theodore and Jared would be busy preparing for the banquet today. Now that they were in his residence instead, Jermaine knew that they needed something.
Nonetheless, Jermaine’s brief and straightforward remark stunned Jared.
After a while, Theodore began to explain the situation. “Mr. Cadden, the martial arts world is going through dramatic changes. Many prominent families are lurking around to target Mr. Chance anytime. If Mr. Chance wants to stay safe in Jadeborough, he needs someone’s backing-”
Upon hearing it, Jermaine interrupted in embarrassment, “Theodore, you should know that Senary Porta only works at a desk. How can we dictate the matters related to the martial arts world? Even if I make a request, those from the martial arts world might refuse to agree to it-”
“Mr. Cadden, that’s not what I meant. Mr. Chance hopes that you can help introduce him to the higher-ups.” Theodore quickly made it clear.
Theodore understood Jermaine couldn’t dictate anything related to the martial arts world. After all, even the Department of Justice was more influential than Senary Porta within the martial arts world.
Upon hearing it, Jermaine exclaimed inwardly and nodded in response. After a thought flashed through his mind, Jermaine said, “By the way, I’ve almost forgotten to inform you this—Mr. Sanders might attend the banquet.”
“Mr. Sanders?” Theodore frowned as if he didn’t understand to whom Jermaine was referring. After a while, Theodore recalled something and widened his eyes in surprise. “Mr. Cadden, are you talking about…”
