Eventually, the two of them became Catalina’s personal guards.
In Twilight Imperial City, there were many demonic cultivators who had been saved by Infinides.
“Ms. Lantz, we’ve arrived at the imperial city. Please, remember not to argue with your father,” Rightblind quietly reminded Catalina.
When they journeyed to the Celestial Battlefield, they did not seek the approval of Catalina’s father.
Although Infinides was aware, Catalina was still a princess. If something were to happen during her unauthorized visit to Ethereal Realm, no one could possibly bear such responsibility.
“I understand.” Catalina nodded in agreement.
A group of people, accompanied by dozens of guards, grandly marched toward the city gates.
A faint smile graced Catalina’s face. Even though she was aware she had made a mistake, she was absolutely fearless.
She was aware that her father cherished her the most; thus, the possibility of him punishing her was simply out of the question.
However, Leftblind and Rightblind bore a solemn expression on their faces. Despite
knowing that the king would certainly show them respect as they were recommended by Infinides, they were also sure that a stern reprimand was inevitable.
Just as Catalina and her group had barely reached the city gates, they were abruptly stopped by someone.
A young man, draped in a long yellow robe and crowned with a golden circlet, exuded an air of nobility as he said, “Catalina, the imperial decree from Father was clear. Upon your return, you are not to enter the imperial city. Instead, you will head directly to Cloudstride Peak to reflect on your actions for ten years.”
This individual was none other than Catalina’s elder brother, Dorian Lantz, who also happened to be the crown prince of Twilight Imperial City.
“You’d better not be falsifying Father’s decree, Dorian. I don’t believe he would have me reflect on my actions for ten years. I need to find Father and get some clarity.”
Ignoring Dorian’s objections, Catalina was determined to rush into the city.
Dorian blocked Catalina’s way and said, “Catalina, I assure you I didn’t falsify Father’s decree. That’s exactly what Father said.”
Upon seeing the situation, the two elders on either side, despite their desire to assist
Catalina, dared not intervene. After all, this was a matter between the siblings.
Catalina glared at Dorian, her anger evident. “I know you’ve always harbored resentment toward me, Dorian. You despise the fact that Father favors me. But I’m a girl, so I could never compete with you for the throne. What’s wrong with Father showing me some favoritism? Why are you always making things difficult for me? If you don’t let me in today, I’ll go find my mentor and ask him to help me clarify things. Why have I been forced to reflect on my actions for ten years?”
For as long as she could remember, Catalina never held much affection for her older brother. She always felt that he was narrow-minded and had a particular penchant for jealousy.
As the only girl among the nine royal children, Catalina was especially cherished by her father.
This stirred feelings of jealousy within Dorian, causing him to constantly pick on Catalina.
“What are you implying, Catalina? I am merely carrying out Father’s decree. How could you interpret that as me giving you a hard time? Just so you know, Infinides is in the palace too, but he can’t save you either!” Dorian said.
Upon hearing this, Catalina was instantly taken aback. I went to the Celestial Battlefield with my mentor’s permission, so how could things have
turned out this way?
However, Catalina was far from giving up. She planned to barge in and clarify things personally.
Upon seeing this, Dorian’s expression turned cold. “Catalina, if you continue to act so unreasonably, then don’t blame me for what I’ll do.”
After Dorian finished speaking, he gestured toward the guards at the city gate, saying, “Take the princess into custody.”
Just as the guards were about to take action, suddenly a figure came rushing in.
“Hold it right there!”
A man, also dressed in a long yellow robe and carrying a long sword, came running over. “Dorian, Father has given an order for Catalina to enter the city.”
This individual was the fourth prince, Fraser Lantz.
Upon seeing Fraser arrive, Catalina instantly broke into a smile. She stepped forward, grabbing Fraser’s arm. “Let’s go, Fraser.”
“Wait a moment.” Dorian’s eyebrows furrowed slightly as he continued, “Fraser, you aren’t falsely conveying Father’s decree, are you?
Father did tell me that he ordered Catalina to reflect for ten years.”
