Jared had no intention of continuing the conversation with Catalina. She was simply too mysterious for him to handle.
“Don’t be like that! I-”
“Ms. Lantz, we are almost at the imperial city.”
The sound of Rightblind’s voice echoed in Jared’s ears, before abruptly cutting off.
“Ms. Lantz? Ms. Lantz?” Jared called out twice, but there was no response from Catalina.
“How odd…” Jared wore a slight frown, genuinely puzzled about how exactly Catalina managed to get in touch with him.
At that moment, Vermilion Demon Lord said, “Hey, brat! That little lady isn’t as simple as she seems. She’s already left her contractual imprint on you, so you’re hers now. She can know your whereabouts at any time and in any place, and she is also able to contact you at will.”
“A contractual imprint? When did this happen? How come I wasn’t aware?”
Jared was utterly dumbfounded. He couldn’t recall any instance of Catalina leaving an imprint on him.
“She secretly left it on you when you carried her,” Vermilion Demon Lord said.
Upon hearing this, Jared recalled the time he carried Catalina on his back in the Celestial Battlefield, and there were indeed some suspicious circumstances.
He had only carried Catalina for a short while before she said she was fine and insisted that she didn’t need to be carried anymore.
It seemed that this young lady had been planning this for quite some time.
“Where’s the imprint? I need to erase it.” Jared was on the hunt for the mark, not wanting to be under Catalina’s watchful eye wherever he went.
“No need to keep searching. What’s done can’t be undone, so just accept your fate. From now on, you won’t be able to escape that girl’s grasp,” Vermilion Demon Lord said with a gleeful delight in the face of disaster,
Jared was left speechless, and he could only sigh in response. However, he quickly remembered the incident where his calls to Vermilion Demon Lord were met with no response during their encounter with danger. He immediately asked, “Mr. Vermilion, why didn’t you respond to my calls when we were in danger just now? Were you scared too?”
“I fear nothing. In this Ethereal Realm, there’s no one left for me to fear. I simply didn’t want to give you the chance to play the hero and rescue the damsel in distress. You’ve always been a charmer, attracting so many women who would do anything for you. Despite my thousands of years of cultivation, I’ve never had a dual cultivation partner. I’ve only been in your consciousness field for a short time, and you’ve already toyed with so many women. It’s so unfair!” Vermilion Demon Lord exclaimed.
Upon hearing this, Jared could only shake his head, caught between laughter and despair. Vermilion Demon Lord was evidently green with envy after seeing the number of women by his side.
Jared stopped talking. Instead, he earnestly began his search for Myocyte Grass.
Twilight Imperial City was the imperial city of the Lantz family.
The city was magnificent and grand, covering an incredibly vast area. The city walls around it soared high, disappearing into the clouds, giving it the ethereal look of a celestial city.
Moreover, above the imperial city, the sun and moon simultaneously illuminated the sky, and countless spiritual energies were floating all around.
Such a vast city, and with an incredibly large area. If it were in Ethereal Realm, it would have been impossible to go unnoticed.
Yet, amongst the numerous cultivators in Ethereal Realm, very few knew about Twilight Imperial City.
Although Twilight Imperial City existed within Ethereal Realm, it was uniquely situated in a void. The entire city was actually within another dimension.
Hence, even after traversing through Ethereal Realm, one would not discover the existence of Twilight Imperial City.
Twilight Imperial City was originally a fortress in Ethereal Realm, but before the Celestial Battle, the founder of the Lantz family expended a thousand-year spirit ley line to transport Twilight Imperial City into a different dimension of time and space. This was how the city managed to avoid a catastrophic disaster.
Several millennia had passed, and following the Celestial Battle, the celestial realm began to thrive anew. Twilight Imperial City, too, reestablished its connection with this flourishing celestial world.
The individuals flanking Catalina, known as Leftblind and Rightblind, were once dark sorcerers of the celestial realm.
Simply because of the relentless pursuit by Demon Seal Alliance, the two had been forced to flee hither and thither. They were eventually rescued by Infinides, which led to their appearance in Twilight Imperial City.
