Cloud and the others didn’t dare to make a move. They could only wait for Jared.
At that moment, Jared was desperately trying to break through the restrictive arcane array, his forehead visibly slick with sweat.
Seeing Jared struggle so much, Cyanna then said, “Mr. Chance, if it’s not possible, you shouldn’t keep trying. After all, I’ve been here for many years and I’m already used to it.”
“Don’t worry, I can break through…”
After Jared finished speaking, an eye suddenly appeared on his forehead.
Immediately after, the Nethersky Eye was activated, revealing the complete restriction arcane array right in front of Jared.
Some of the runes on the array, Jared had never seen before. They appeared to be even more complex than the divine markings he had studied.
However, Jared knew that every different technique would still share similarities. Even the most complex arrays and runes, no matter how varied, never stray from their root. In the end, there would always be a pivotal point to control it all.
Moreover, there must certainly be a way to provide energy for the arcane array; otherwise,
it’s impossible for the arcane array to function and activate on its own.
With this in mind, Jared surveyed his surroundings.
When Jared’s gaze fell upon those stairs, his vision suddenly brightened.
Beneath Jared’s Nethersky Eye, the staircase surprisingly took on a russet hue.
This confirmed the presence of energy within the staircase.
Jared stared into the void with his Nethersky
Eye, seeing nothing but a hazy grey expanse. The sudden appearance of a russet hue indicated that this staircase was far from ordinary.
The distant rotation of the restriction array was all dependent on the energy transferred by these steps.
“Ms. Cyanna, could you please step aside a bit?” Jared suddenly asked.
Cyanna gave a nod, then took a few steps back. She had no idea what Jared was about to do.
Jared was seen drawing out the Dragonslayer Sword, which was immediately followed by a burst of golden light.
The sword’s light slashed out, severing the staircase in an instant. What seemed like an ordinary staircase, now crumbled dramatically.
Jared’s body also tumbled down the stairs.
At that moment, there was no longer a staircase connecting the third and fourth floors.
Cyanna couldn’t comprehend why Jared had severed the stairs, so she asked in confusion, “Mr. Chance, why did you slash the stairs?”
“Cut off this staircase, and the arcane array will naturally be broken. If you don’t believe me, follow me to the fourth floor and see for yourself…”
Once Jared finished speaking, he leaped up in a single bound and went straight to the fourth floor.
Cyanna’s face was filled with confusion, but she still leaped up. Despite her concerns, she surprisingly reached the fourth floor, without any restrictive arcane arrays hindering her.
At that moment, Cyanna was brimming with excitement. She couldn’t even recall how many years it had been since she last stepped out of this third floor.
Upon seeing Jared and Cyanna approach, Cloud and the others quickly went up to greet them.
“Where’s the lightning beast?”
Jared didn’t catch sight of the lightning beast, so he curiously asked about it.
“The lightning beast had intended to seize the magical item, but in the end, it was wiped out by a formidable force…”
Cloud spoke truthfully.
“What?” Jared was taken aback.
The lightning beast was of the Ultimate Realm.
Just how terrifying must the power be, to obliterate a Ultimate Realm cultivator with a single strike?
At that moment, Jared’s gaze was captivated by the magical items within the fourth layer. These magical items were radiating with a light that made it clear they were no ordinary items.
“Ms. Cyanna, what… what exactly is going on here?” Jared asked.
Cyanna also shook her head. “I’m not sure, I’ve never been up there myself. Let me ask around for you!”
After she finished speaking, Cyanna took two steps forward. Then, she called out toward the vast four-story main hall. “Coall, Coall…”
After shouting twice, a man appeared, sturdy and towering like an iron pillar, his skin a dark and healthy hue. He was clad in a piece of black armor, its texture reminiscent of scales.
Upon seeing Cyanna, the burly man furrowed his brows slightly and asked, “You… Are you Cyanna from the third floor?”
“Correct, it’s me!” Cyanna nodded in affirmation.
Although they had never met, they could still recognize each other’s voices.
