“I’m merely harnessing lightning tribulation to cultivate and not going through the process exactly.”
By then, those who had been lagging at the back caught up to Jared and Catalina. When they saw the lightning beast in front of them both, their faces turned pale.
“A lightning beast? This is a lightning beast?”
Among the crowd, an elderly man recognized the lightning beast and was so frightened that his legs buckled, upon which he collapsed outright.
In Ethereal Realm, the lightning beast was merely a myth. Few had ever laid eyes on it. It was rumored to be incredibly ferocious, capable of summoning tens of thousands of bolts of lightning with a single clash of its twin hammers, reducing everyone in its path to ashes.
The lightning beast swept its gaze over the crowd before turning its gaze to Jared.
“They’re all with us,” Jared said.
Seeing that, the lightning beast quickly put his twin hammers away and bowed at the crowd. “Don’t be afraid, sirs. I won’t hurt you all.”
Upon hearing its words, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Rumors painted the lightning beast as ferocious, but upon meeting one this time, it’s clear that those rumors are false.”
“It seems while the lightning beast may look a bit fierce, it’s friendly in nature.”
“After leaving here this time, if anyone dares to claim that the lightning beast is ferocious, I’ll argue otherwise.”
The cultivators began engaging in an animated discussion upon realizing that the lightning beast posed no threat at all.
Jared merely smiled faintly. If it weren’t for the fact that this lightning beast has been intimidated by the fire unicorn and Celestial Devourer, we would probably be dead under its lightning by now.
“It’ll be Bone Break Cliff ahead if we continue forward from here, right?” Catalina asked the lightning beast.
The lightning beast was stunned for a moment, then nodded in affirmation. “Yes, but how did you know that it’s Bone Break Cliff ahead? Have you been here before?”
Catalina curled her lips and hastily shook her head. “I’ve never been here. I merely heard about it.”
Jared glanced at her, certain that she had either
been there before or heard a detailed account from someone at the very least.
“What is Bone Break Cliff?” Jared asked.
“Bone Break Cliff is just an ordinary cliff,” the lightning beast replied.
“A cliff? It’s a snowfield here: How is there a cliff when there aren’t any mountains?”
Jared was somewhat puzzled.
“Although this place is a snowfield, if you were to continue forward, you would encounter a massive chasm. Bone Break Cliff had not always existed here. It only came into being many years ago when an expert came and engaged in a fierce battle with a Demonic Cultivator that resulted in the snowfield mainland split in half. A chasm formed between the two pieces of land, forming a colossal cliff. Beneath it lay countless skeletal remains, hence its name of Bone Break Cliff,” the lightning beast explained in detail.
“A Demonic Cultivator? There’s even a Demonic Cultivator here?” Jared’s brows furrowed slightly.
This is the Celestial Battlefield. Could someone possibly be still alive after all these years? And who was that expert?
“The Demonic Cultivator was a survivor of the
Celestial Battlefield, but he was ultimately slain. However, a piece of his soul remnant is hidden among the skeletal remains at Bone Break Cliff. The heaven and earth suppression here is the doing of that expert. He restrained the power of any cultivator who entered this place,” the lightning beast divulged.
“Whoa! That expert is that impressive?” Jared was taken aback. He had originally thought that the heaven and earth suppression there was the doing of some supreme being after the formation of the Celestial Battlefield.
Unexpectedly, it turned out to be the doing of an expert who came later. So, there’s such an impressive figure in Ethereal Realm?
When the others heard that it was the Celestial Battlefield there, they were all shocked as well.
They initially thought it was some ancient ruins and entered in hopes of finding magical items within. Had they known it was the Celestial Battlefield, many would have likely stayed away.
After all, the Celestial Battlefield was incredibly perilous, unlike ancient ruins.
Meanwhile, Catalina’s eyes somehow started flickering as she listened to the, lightning beast.
“How do you know so much, then? Did that expert spare you?” she asked.
“Back then, I was merely a snow rat. It was by sheer chance that I got struck by the heavenly thunder that resulted from the fierce battle.
Miraculously, I didn’t die but transformed into a lightning beast instead. At that time, the expert wouldn’t even spare me a glance, let alone lift a hand to kill me,” the lightning beast explained.
After-listening to it all, Catalina fell silent, her gaze fixed intently ahead with solemnity in her eyes.
