“What should we do, Mr. Chance?” Judith asked, turning to Jared.
After all, they didn’t have that many spiritual stones to spare.
Even if the entire Castenada Town were to pool their money, it was doubtful that they could gather that much at that point since practically all of their resources had been expended to treat Owen.
“I’ll go and make some enquiries.” Jared then headed toward the woman.
Although he didn’t have any spiritual stones on him, he had purple spirit coins. They could be used as money, not to mention a cultivation resource.
“Excuse me, miss, but I don’t have that many spiritual stones on me. Would it be possible for me to substitute them with purple spirit coins instead?” Jared asked.
“Of course.” Having said that, the woman held her hand out at him.
Jared simply returned her the purple spirit coins she gave him.
Holding the purple spirit coins in hand, the woman gave a slight smile. “You may enter now. I gave you these purple spirit coins so that you’d have an opportunity to go in since one of
my men was rude to you just now.”
Jared was taken aback. Subsequently, he chuckled wryly and asked, “Why bother going to the trouble of giving me the purple spirit coins, then? You could have just let me in for free.”
“That won’t do. This is the rule, and it can’t be broken.”
The woman shook her head.
Jared couldn’t help but laugh. He found her rather endearing, charming in her stubbornness.
“What about my two friends?”
He pointed at Cloud and Judith.
“It’s the same for all. A hundred thousand spiritual stones or the equivalent amount in purple spirit coins,” the woman answered.
“Alright, then. Hopefully, this trip to the Celestial Battlefield will earn me back the cost of the tickets.”
Chuckling, Jared casually took out two bags of purple spirit coins from his Storage Ring.
At the sight of him nonchalantly taking out two bags of purple spiritual coins, the woman’s expression noticeably faltered for a moment.
After all, someone who could casually produce such a large amount of purple spirit coins was certainly far from ordinary. There was even a good chance that he had a powerful force backing him up.
The woman took the purple spiritual coins before asking, “May I know your name, sir?”
“Jared Chance,” Jared replied, announcing his name candidly.
Since he then knew that she wasn’t from Demon Seal Alliance, he saw no need to hide his identity anymore.
Sure enough, there was no change in the woman’s expression at the mention of his name. It seemed that she didn’t know him, let alone the fact that Demon Seal Alliance was hunting him down with a hundred-year offering as a reward.
Following that, a wave of relief finally washed over Jared. She’s not a member of Demon Seal Alliance and knows nothing about me. With that, I’m much safer in the Celestial Battlefield!
“I’m Catalina Lantz, but everyone calls me Lina.”
The woman, Catalina Lantz, also introduced herself to Jared.
“Miss-”
Rightblind wanted to caution her about something or other, but a glare from her silenced him, making him swallow the words right on the tip of his tongue.
“Until we meet again, Ms. Lantz. See you in the Celestial Battlefield.”
After-Jared had said that, he made to lead Cloud and Judith into the mouth of the cave.
But no sooner had he turned around than Catalina suddenly cried out to him, “Wait a moment!”
“Is something else the matter, Ms. Lantz?” Jared asked, looking at her in surprise.
“You said the Celestial Battlefield just now?
How do you know that it isn’t ancient ruins here but the Celestial Battlefield?”
It was only then that Catalina realized as much.
Everyone had mistaken the place to be ancient ruins, with only Jared calling it the Celestial Battlefield.
“That’s easy. The aura of this Celestial Battlefield is already leaking out, so I naturally know. Moreover, this isn’t the first one I’ve entered, so I can sense it!”
With that said, Jared turned around and walked into the mouth of the cave with Cloud and
Judith, paying no further attention to her.
Catalina stared at Jared’s retreating figure, her expression turning solemn.
