The black clouds slowly transformed into a giant net and descended upon Jared and the others.
“Retreat, retreat quickly!” Sylvain shouted at Wyatt and the rest of his group as he saw the danger unfolding.
It was obvious that the Sky Slasher Sect had already set up a grand formation to trap everyone. If Wyatt and the others entered it now, it would be a grave mistake.
However, Wyatt and his group didn’t heed the warning. They sailed their spirit ships directly under the net woven by the black clouds.
“President Surrey, these fools are walking right into the trap. Now we can sit back and reap the benefits!” Ernesto said gleefully, watching Wyatt and the others rush headlong into the trap.
Thaddeus was also a bit surprised. He hadn’t expected that Wyatt and his group would be so fearless, charging in without regard for their lives.
“If everything goes according to plan, we probably won’t even need to lift a finger,” Thaddeus remarked, standing at the bow of his ship with a cold smile.
He had brought his alchemists along merely to observe the situation and had no intention of getting involved.
Viola hurried to Jared’s side, asking with concern, “Jared, are you okay?”
“I’m fine. It’s just the Sky Slasher Sect. They are nothing to me,” Jared replied with a slight smile.
Hearing Jared’s words, Sylvain couldn’t help but sigh.
He thought Jared was boasting. After all, a Sixth Level Tribulator claiming he didn’t fear the Sky Slasher Sect had to be a joke.
“President Chance, why did you rush in here? Now we’re all trapped in this formation, and I fear none of us will be able to escape,” Sylvain said to Wyatt, expressing his frustration.
“Mr. Laurent, you’ve been holding off the Sky Slasher Sect all by yourself for our sake. We couldn’t just stand by and watch. If we work together, we may not be powerless against the Sky Slasher Sect,” Wyatt responded.
“Yes, if we stand united, we don’t need to fear the Sky Slasher Sect!” Dylan added.
“But the Sky Slasher Sect has been colluding with an alchemist guild. I just don’t know which one,” Sylvain said, still unsure who was behind this alliance.
“They’ve been working with the Northern Alchemist Guild. Didn’t you notice that Thaddeus and his group didn’t follow us in?”
Wyatt pointed toward Thaddeus and the others, who were staying far back from the black net.
Now, all the alchemists turned their gazes toward Thaddeus and his group, finally realizing that he had indeed allied with the Sky Slasher Sect.
“Thaddeus?” Sylvain furrowed his brows. “So, that scoundrel had already conspired with the Sky Slasher Sect to take over Medicine God Island. No wonder when I proposed holding the Alchemist Fair on Medicine God Island, he agreed so readily. This was all part of a long- term plan. That guy is pure evil,” Sylvain cursed.
“Thaddeus is a snake! He told us the strength of Medicine God Island forced his hand, and that he had no choice but to hold the Alchemist Fair there,” Hartwin said through gritted teeth.
Many alchemists began cursing Thaddeus at that moment, though he couldn’t hear any of it.
The massive black net had now completely engulfed everyone.
What had been a clear sky turned dark. It was now pitch black.
A strange sense of fear began to creep into everyone’s hearts under this black net, along with an oppressive pressure so intense it made them feel as though they couldn’t breathe.
“Everyone, let’s work together and break this formation!” Wyatt commanded, rallying the group to combine their strength to shatter the formation.
With so many of them, their collective power could be immense.
“Okay, let’s try!”
Sylvain nodded in agreement.
