The massive sphere of light gradually began to fade until a single figure remained suspended mid-air in the end.
“Mr. Chance… Mr. Chance is there!” Sigurd shouted upon seeing that.
“This is a miracle! It’s truly a miracle!” Wyatt couldn’t help but exclaim.
Such lightning would have likely turned anyone else to ashes long ago. But astonishingly, Jared ‘is still intact. I just wonder what had become of him now. Is he severely injured, or is all that’s left of him a shell of a body?
As Felipe and Freya gazed at Jared in mid-air, their eyes brimmed with guilt.
He risked his life and went all out to protect us. Yet, we betrayed him and wanted him dead solely because of our interests. Are we even human?
“Jared!”
Leaping up, Viola headed toward Jared.
“Ms. Viola!” Sigurd wanted to stop her, but he was a step too late.
Without considering her safety, Viola dashed forward. At the same time, Jared plummeted straight toward the ground.
Bam!
He crashed heavily onto the ground, carving out a deep crater on impact.
With anxiety etched across her face, Viola hurriedly rushed over to check on him.
Everyone else’s expressions also abruptly tensed up. They watched with bated breath, their hearts pounding in their chests.
‘Unaware of Jared’s condition, they were all worried about him.
Viola cradled Jared. The sight of his eyes tightly shut and the scent of charred flesh emanating from him immediately had tears pour down her face like a faucet.
“Jared!”
Carrying him in her arms, she went over to Wyatt and the others.
“Mr. Chance!”
Upon seeing Jared in such a state, everyone crowded over.
Wyatt hurriedly checked Jared over. Then, he yelled, “Everyone, take out all the medicinal herbs you have on to treat Mr. Chance!”
Hearing that, everyone opened their item pouches and took out anything that could be of use unreservedly.
Wyatt began refining pills, tossing all the mystical herbs into the cauldron in one go.
He knew that Jared was very weak right then and needed a large amount of pills to replenish his spiritual energy.
That particular kind of pill didn’t require any techniques to make, merely requiring a ‘substantial amount of mystical herbs.
After Jared was fed the refined pills, he slowly opened his eyes.
“Jared, you’re awake!” Viola exclaimed joyfully when she saw that Jared had regained consciousness.
“You’re finally awake, Mr. Chance. If anything had happened to you, we would have felt guilty for the rest of our lives.”
Upon seeing that Jared had awakened, Wyatt also let out a sigh of relief.
“As I’ve said, I wouldn’t die.” Jared rose to his feet and assessed his body, only to find that the lightning power within him had been completely absorbed by his nascence star.
“It was all thanks to President Chance who gathered everyone’s mystical herb and refined pills for you that you were able to wake up!” Viola revealed.
“Oh…” Jared hadn’t expected Wyatt to actually go that far.
“You were the one who saved our lives, so giving up some mystical herbs is the least we can do, Mr. Chance!” Wyatt said with a slight smile.
“President Chance, the condition of those ‘injured has started worsening now!”
At that precise moment, an alchemist came running over and said that to Wyatt.
Upon hearing that, Wyatt hurriedly went over to check on the injured. Jared followed suit.
Over a dozen alchemists were injured by the lightning. Although their injuries weren’t fatal, if treatment continued to be delayed in that manner, they might all end up paralyzed.
“Hurry up and treat them!” Wyatt urged.
“We’ve given up all of our mystical herbs, so we can’t treat them anymore now, President Chance!” an alchemist reminded.
Wyatt was taken aback, only then remembering that he had used up all the mystical herbs for Jared just now.
Jared examined the injuries of the alchemists before he turned to Wyatt and said, “There are mystical herbs on Cauldron Peak itself, President Chance. Bring some men with you and find some back. There’s still time!”
“Okay, I’ll set off right away!”
Nodded, Wyatt immediately led some men away to search for mystical herbs.
