In their group of five, four were now feeling unwell. Only Jared was without a hint of discomfort.
“Why don’t I feel anything?”
Is it because of my own constitution?
“There’s definitely something off about this mist. If you take out that pill you’re carrying, you’ll probably be able to sense what’s wrong with it,” Vermilion Demon Lord said.
Jared promptly took out the pill and handed it over to Viola.
Viola looked at the pill curiously. “Jared, what kind of pill is this? It’s so peculiar…”
“I don’t know either. I found it.” Jared slowly took in the surrounding mist.
He discovered that there was indeed something off about the mist. It had the ability to slowly erode the human body.
By the time the issue was identified, the body would already be heavily burdened with poison.
“Quick, look, why is there black mist coming out of me?” Viola suddenly cried out.
From the palm of her hand, wisps of black mist slowly emerged, which was then absorbed by the pill. Following this, it was purified, transforming into a white mist.
Only then did Jared realize that the pill had the ability to purify the poison in the mist.
Although the toxicity in the mist wasn’t very strong, prolonged exposure would certainly start to take its toll.
“Viola, give that pill to Sigurd…” Jared said.
Sigurd took the pill, and the poison within his body began to be rapidly absorbed.
Felipe and Freya followed suit, using the pill to absorb the poison within their bodies.
After detoxifying, everyone felt much more at ease, and then they continued on their journey.
Even though they knew the mist was poisonous, they weren’t afraid, thanks to the presence of the pill.
After a while of walking, Jared suddenly came to a halt.
“Mr. Chance, what’s wrong?” Sigurd asked.
Jared sensed that someone was approaching them. “Someone’s coming. You guys go ahead…”
“How could that be possible? Aside from the fact that no one knows our location, this place is completely filled with poisonous mist. Who could possibly find us here?”
A frown creased Viola’s forehead. She was utterly perplexed. How was it that people always managed to locate them with such precision?
“These people are really powerful. You guys should leave first. I’ll catch up with you later.”
Jared’s brows also furrowed slightly.
He realized that the other party was incredibly strong, possibly even an expert of Ultimate Realm. Their target was clear. They were heading straight for them.
Jared could manage if he was alone. However, with Viola and the others present, the need to split his attention to protect them made the situation quite troublesome.
“All right, take good care of yourself.” Viola was aware of her own abilities. Staying by Jared’s side would only hinder him, so it was better for her to leave first.
“I will. Take this pill. Without it, it will be quite challenging for you all to get out of here.”
Jared handed over the pill to Viola.
“What about you?” asked Viola, full of concern.
“Don’t worry. This level of poison can’t cause me any harm,” Jared said with a slight smile.
Indeed, poison caused significantly less damage to Jared’s robust body compared to others.
He was immune to all ordinary poisons.
However, it was clear that this poison was left by the Medicine God. It was not just any ordinary poison, which made it impossible for Jared to fully ward off.
After accepting the pill, Viola swiftly led Sigurd and the others away.
Not long after they left, Jared spotted a group of people emerging from the surrounding mist.
There were at least a dozen of these people, most of whom were Seventh and Eighth Level Tribulators.
