When the ripples passed through Jared’s body, he suddenly shuddered.
Following that, a dragon roar was heard from an unknown source. Jared could only feel the blood in his body begin to boil.
“W-What’s going on?” Jared was astonished.
“This is the blood nascence I’ve just acquired, Mr. Chance. I haven’t gotten a handle on it yet, but I detected your Draconian bloodline.”
As Rosetta spoke, Catina walked over.
Rosetta once again made contact with the void, setting off a series of ripples. When the ripples passed through Catina’s body, she was stunned for a moment. Above her head materialized the image of a fox demon.
However, the image of the fox demon wasn’t very clear. All Rosetta could make out was a silhouette.
“Hmm? Why does her bloodline share similarities with Mr. Chance’s?” Rosetta was shocked. Upon hearing that, Jared panicked and changed the topic. “Can your blood nascence only be used to detect other people’s bloodline, Ms. Lothian?”
“I don’t know. This is its only function I’m aware for the moment,” said Rosetta, feeling awkward. As she had only grasped the blood nascence, she hadn’t mastered it, so she didn’t yet understand the full extent of its power.
Catina piped up, “Observing the bloodline of others isn’t the sole capability of the blood nascence. It possesses the potential to enhance them as well. Mastery over the blood nascence could empower you to elevate one’s bloodline to its utmost level. Everyone has a bloodline, regardless of their race. Of course, there are strong and weak bloodlines. While Jared possesses a Draconian bloodline, not every Draconian’s bloodline is as strong as his. Those who have a blood nascence can elevate the people with weaker bloodlines to greater heights. With the power of the blood nascence, one need not resort to bloodline fusion to grow mightier. If I had known this little demoness could obtain the power of blood nascence, I wouldn’t have allowed you to take advantage of me.”
Jared put on an awkward look and didn’t retort her. I’m clearly the victim here, yet she’s acting as though she’s the one who’s the victim.
Upon hearing Catina’s words, Rosetta was startled. She turned and looked at Jared in disbelief. At that moment, she finally realized why Catina’s bloodline was so similar to Jared’s.
As a result of the bloodline fusion, a portion of Jared’s bloodline had successfully integrated itself into Catina’s, thereby fortifying her own bloodline.
Sensing Rosetta’s gaze, Jared awkwardly explained, “Don’t misunderstand, Ms. Lothian. It’s not what you think it-”
“You don’t have to explain, Mr. Chance. Everyone has their own choices, and I don’t think you made a bad decision.” Rosetta smiled.
“All right, let’s go,” Catina said.
Right then, she sensed a pretty large group of people approaching them rapidly. “I sense people coming. You two head out first. I’ll stay and take a look.”
After all, in her eyes, Jared and Rosetta were far too weak to battle against the incomers.
If the incoming party were indeed foes, not only would the two be useless, but Catina would also have to split her attention to defend them.
Without delay, Catina leaped forward. At this moment, just a few miles away from Jared and the others, five or six people were running in their direction.
Those people were covered in wounds, and they were exhausted. If Jared saw them, he would be shocked because that group of people included Misho and Hamish.
“I doubt we can escape like this, Mr. Chevalier. You guys proceed. I’ll stay and stall them. You must find Mr. Chance and rescue my granddaughter!” said Misho to Hamish.
