“But where should we look for a key with this shape?” Jared was rendered speechless. They didn’t have the key, nor did they know the whereabouts of the key or where to find it.
They would not be able to enter without the key. “Mr. Chance, that skull seems to be familiar with this place. Maybe it knows where the key. is. We can try asking it,” Great Diviner reminded.
Only then did Jared recall the skull’s existence. However, since the skull had lost its luster, it hadn’t responded no matter how much he called out. Jared wasn’t sure if the owner of the skull was still there.
Nonetheless, Jared retrieved the skull from his Storage Ring. However, when he took out the skull, he was astonished, noticing the initially translucent and crystal clear skull had turned entirely black.
A plum blossom-shaped picture was shining at the top of the skull, which was glaring in contrast to the black skull. Jared stared at the skull in his hand in a daze. “Mr. Chance, could the key be the skull you’re holding?” Great Diviner was similarly shocked at that sight.
“It’s possible.” Jared held the skull and gently moved it closer to the recess of the door. All of a sudden, a strong suction force pulled the skull onto the door, and the door began to creak.
Soon, the door, measuring tens of meters tall, swung open, and the skull returned to Jared’s palm. Jared was stunned. If this door can only be opened with the skull in my hand, does that mean this place was built by the owner of this skull? What exactly is going on?
Jared was bewildered. He couldn’t wrap his mind around the situation nor figure out the identity of the skull’s owner. “Mr. Chance, look!” Matthew exclaimed at that.
moment, pulling Jared back to reality. Jared looked in the direction Matthew was pointing and saw a valley behind the opened door. The ground was littered with countless bones.
The small hills on both sides of the valley were bare, with only a few withered trees. There were also many skeletal remains and weapon fragments scattered on the hills.
The valley was no longer in pitch darkness, allowing everyone to take in the scene, but the sight of the blurry night and bones covering the floor merely added to the eeriness of the place.
“There are so many bones here. No wonder the negative energy is so dense here,” Great Diviner said, his mouth wide open in surprise. Jared merely strode inward silently, and the crowd followed him into the valley.
The valley was unnaturally quiet, prompting everyone to hold their breath. Right then, a few crows flew by and startled everyone. “How can there be living creatures here?” Matthew asked confusedly.
“Master, t-this isn’t the real hell, is it? I’m scared…” Skyler trembled all over. After all, she was still a girl. It wasn’t surprising for her to be frightened by such a scene.
“This place can’t be hell. Hell is the underworld. With our capabilities, we can’t leave the mundane world and enter another dimension yet. Nevertheless, this place is indeed creepy, like purgatory,” Great Diviner said with a frown.
“Regardless of which world this is, we should brace ourselves and plow ahead since we’re already here. Everyone be on your toes and don’t get lost,” Jared reminded.
When he stepped through the door just now, he sensed an extremely dangerous aura approaching. Everyone huddled closer together, on high alert.
