Chapter 871 Snake
Soon after, Declan kept chanting. After a loud bang, clouds of black smoke rose into the air. The smoke covered a radius of hundreds of meters across the sky and instantly turned day into night.
Despite that, Jared remained calm as ever and swung his Dragonslayer Sword in the air. The sky turned bright again as silver rays appeared.
Declan wasn’t fazed by what Jared did. Instead, he started chanting even faster. He then drew a circle in the void with his right hand, and ripples were formed in the circle. It was as if the concept of time and space was defied.
Roar!
Right then, an ear-splitting roar was heard, and a scaly snake appeared. The snake had a blood-red tongue and a bulky body. Besides, the snake seemed to have buried itself in a place full of corpses prior to that because there was a stench of blood on its body.
While looking at the snake, Jared frowned. This is not an illusion! This is a real being that appeared from a different dimension!
“Jared, so what if you can absorb lethal intent? I’ve summoned an ancient beast to deal with you this time around…” Declan’s eyes were filled with excitement as he was looking at the snake. However, his body had returned to its original state. Besides, his face had turned pale before spitting out a mouthful of blood right after he said that.
It seemed like Declan had used up all his energy when he summoned the snake.
Bang!
Jared rushed toward the snake and struck it with his fiery Dragonslayer Sword.
The loud bang was generated when the sword landed on the snake’s body with an enormous force. Instantly, sparks flew and splattered everywhere.
Upon that strike, the snake quivered in pain. In retaliation, it spat out a bright ray of light, and the ground below them was shaking violently.
Jared swiftly retreated and dodged its attack. At that moment, pain radiated through the hand Jared was holding his Dragonslayer Sword. The scales on this snack are too tough! It doesn’t seem like Dragonslayer Sword had caused much damage to it.
“Jared!” By then, Lyanna and Theodore had caught up.
Prior to that, they could feel the frightening aura coming from the jungle. They were worried about Jared, so they’d gone after him.
To their surprise, they saw a bulky and ten-odd meters long snake battling with Jared when they arrived. Right then, they were scared out of their minds.
Since Horington wasn’t located in an area with indigenous forest, they were puzzled as to where the giant snake had come from.
“Don’t come near! Get away from here!” Jared quickly warned Lyanna and the rest.
Indeed, the snake was too strong for Lyanna and the rest to handle.
Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!
The snake opened its mouth and started moving rapidly toward Jared. Its tail was sweeping around violently, causing trees in the area to be uprooted. At the same time, rocks and stones were sent flying in all directions.
Again, Jared raised his Dragonslayer Sword and leaped into the air. He then dove toward the snake and stabbed it in the back.
Bang!
Sparks flew when the sword came into contact with the snake. It was as if two giant rocks had crashed into one another.
The snake wailed and swung its tail toward Jared. It was moving with so much force that Jared felt like he was struck by a metal rod.
Like a bullet, Jared was sent crashing into a huge tree in the area.
“Jared!”
“Mr. Chance!”
Lyanna and the rest rushed toward Jared immediately to help him up.
Traces of blood could be seen flowing out from the corners of Jared’s mouth. Although his strong body was unharmed, the powerful impact had damaged his vital organs.
