Jared gazed at the golden figure before him, cautiously asking, “Who are you?”
“Isn’t it strange for you to come to me and ask who I am?” The figure slowly began to speak, gradually turning their body around.
Upon hearing that, Jared instantly understood who the figure was and hastily greeted with respect, “Greetings, Medicine God.”
Jared knew the individual standing before him ‘must be the soul remnant left behind when Medicine God fell.
The figure slowly said, “You’re the only one who has seen me in many years. Therefore, I will pass on my legacy to you. However, if you wish to inherit my legacy, you must first acknowledge me as your master.”
“What? I need to acknowledge you as my master?” Jared furrowed his brows slightly.
He was after the legacy, but he had no intention of formally acknowledging someone as his master. Medicine God might be powerful, but Jared thought the former wasn’t good enough to be his master.
“What’s the matter? You’re not willing?” The figure was slightly taken aback.
After all, had it been anyone else, they would have been overjoyed and dropped to their knees the moment Medicine God offered to take them as a disciple and pass on his legacy.
After all, in the eyes of those cultivators, Medicine God was an immortal hailed from the celestial realm.
To have the opportunity to be the disciple of an immortal was probably the dream of every cultivator except for Jared.
Jared had encountered an increasing number ‘of individuals from the celestial realm, all of whom boasted exceptional abilities.
Not only that, Divinus and Hellion were likely more powerful and held higher status than Medicine God in the celestial realm.
Then, there was also Vermilion Demon Lord residing in Jared’s consciousness field and Infinitnus Celestial Sect, a sect in the celestial realm that developed the Ethereal Realm.
Those were all immortals from the celestial realm, and yet Jared had never acknowledged any of them as his master. As such, it was only natural that Jared hesitated when asked to acknowledge the relatively unimpressive Medicine God as his master.
“It’s just so sudden, Medicine God. I haven’t had the time to think about it,” said Jared aggrievedly.
Upon hearing that, Medicine God was instantly displeased. “Brat, I’m a straightforward man, and I prefer dealing with things head-on. If you didn’t pass my test and have impressive credentials, I wouldn’t have offered to take you as my disciple, even if you had begged me on your knees. Moreover, by accepting me as your master, I can present you with a significant gift, along with my legacy. In time, your medical skills will be beyond reach and envied by all. I can help you to improve your medical skills and alchemical abilities in a short period. I can even ‘elevate your cultivation level, pushing you to reach even greater heights. Don’t assume that alchemists only know how to concoct pills and that their progress at elevating their cultivation level is slow. That’s only because the current generation of alchemists are simply ignorant and incompetent.”
After Medicine God finished speaking, he raised his hand and gently swept it horizontally. In an instant, the surrounding darkness disappeared. Beams of light descended from the sky, illuminating the area with an intense brightness.
It was then that Jared realized he was actually inside Cauldron Peak. The entire mountain was hollow. Upon reaching the summit, he saw a bottomless abyss.
At that moment, Jared was in the middle of that abyss, bathed in the light streaming down from the mountain peak.
At the very moment when the entire base was illuminated, Jared discovered that the whole Cauldron Peak had astonishingly turned transparent.
He could even see Wyatt and Viola through the mountain.
Thaddeus, who was still climbing mountains, was also visible to Jared. The members of the Zorn and Zeever families, too.
‘All the alchemists from Cauldron Peak became visible to Jared.
Every single move they made, Jared saw it all crystal clear.
None of them could have possibly imagined that, at that very moment, Jared was actually inside Cauldron Peak, closely observing their every move.
“See these alchemists? They’re all good for nothing. Not a single one of them is naturally gifted. Even if they devote their entire lives to cultivate, they won’t achieve anything significant.” Medicine God glanced at the crowd on Cauldron Peak with disappointment.
“Medicine God, it’s only natural that everyone has different natural abilities, but talent isn’t everything. Even those who might seem less gifted, if they’re willing to work hard, they can still succeed.” Jared disagreed with Medicine God’s words.
