“Quite a lot actually.” He jumps up and starts to walk over to us.
“Who is this?” Evelyn looks at me as if she had every right to be angry at me right now. Is she for real?
“This is Anwir.”
“Anwir?”
“The rogue I released.”
“A pleasure to meet you Alpha Evelyn. I’ve heard stories of the Silver Moon alpha that gives rogues a second chance. I didn’t expect you to be female
“Is that a problem?”
“No, a pleasant surprise from the powers that be.” He shrugs as if what he just said made complete sense.
“May I?” His hands are on Evelyn’s stomach before I have the chance to block her.
“What the fuck?” I growl at him, only for him to tut at me. Is this kid for real?
“He’s strong…” He says as he pulls an impressed face. The father in me wants to already tell my pup how proud I am from such a comment.
“He is?” Evelyn looks at him before her eyes flash to mine.
“Two Alphas having a child together, it’s never happened before.”
“We already have children…” She starts to correct him.
“You were a Luna then…you Alpha when you conceived..” weren’t an
“How do you know that?”
“I know a lot of things.” He removes his hands from Evelyn, her eyes continuing to follow him as if she is trying to work him out.
Evelyn attends to Noah as he starts to become conscious again from the knock to the head.
“Shame we didn’t get to know where Odin is.” Nate walks over to my side, also to check on Noah.
“Yes, the fucker died keeping his location a secret.”
“He’s here.” Anwir claims boldly.
“Where?” My eyes narrow at the teenager before me that seems well informed on things.
“Six miles North West, there’s a cave…”
“I know it…what makes you think he is there?”
“I sense things…oh and Evelyn…watch out for the snake. Good luck.”
Snake? Evelyn seems just as perplexed as me as we both watch the odd young man walk out of the hall, past our warriors.
The room takes on a less suppressive atmosphere after he leaves, yet I didn’t even notice it was affecting me. I didn’t even notice it.
“That was odd. Snake? Let’s get to the caves.” Evelyn starts to walk out of the hall.
“Hang on a minute…”
“Don’t start…”
“You need to stay here..”
“Reuben.” She turns on the spot to me.
“Evelyn, you were just nearly shot. Your beta was knocked out cold…”
“I’m fine.” He growls angrily at me for mentioning it.
“Reuben, you need my men, you need me. This is your Father…”
“I’ll do what I need to do sweetheart.”
“I’m coming…”
“Evelyn…”
“Silver Moon warriors move out.” Her command rolls off her, her warriors following her as they are meant to do.
We had driven to the cave that Anwir had mentioned. I know these caves well, and if he were here it would make sense.
A good hiding place.
But how would Anwir have known this? These caves weren’t in Sickle Peak grounds but they were close enough that they could form a good protection on the place still.
A perfect spot to hide a fugitive alpha.
Exiting the vehicles I make one last appeal to Evelyn for her to head back or at least stay in the car.
Refusing my request, we walk towards the entrance of the cave to find the Sickle Peak warriors on guard.
Unbelievable!
He’s withdrawn the protection detail of the warriors away from the innocent Sickle Peak pack members.
If they were attacked, they’d have no chance. No wonder they collected their children from play equipment as we arrived and ran into their homes. Like something out of a Wild West film.
Coward.
For him to steal all the warriors to protect him. Shame on Alpha Renard for agreeing to do so. Well one has met his doom this night, time for the other to do so as as well.
