The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1259

After Agustin left, Blake entered the ward holding sunflowers in her hand. She pondered, ‘When I arrived just now, I think I saw the man who seemed to have come out of Cecilia’s ward.’

When she saw Agustin’s figure, she felt a sense of familiarity as if she had seen him somewhere before, but she could not remember where.

Blake withdrew her gaze and looked at Cecilia, lying on the bed in a sorry state. Bruises covered her face, and the scars on her neck and arms were clearly visible. Blake, lips pursed, had an indescribable sense of frustration and irritability. However, compared to these feelings, an overwhelming inner turmoil consumed her.

Blake did not expect that Fred saying Cecilia would not die meant he would cause her to be in this state. She said, ” You don’t look like you’re hurt.”

She then put the flowers at the bedside. With smiles all over her face, Cecilia was very happy to see Blake. She placed the freshly cut fruits in front of Blake, saying, “These were just cut. Try them.

“Oh, and I also have some strawberries and cherries. Let me get them for you.”

As Cecilia was about to get up, Blake immediately grabbed her hand, which had the IV drip attached, to stop her from moving around. She replied, “You shouldn’t move around in your current state.

“I just came to visit you for a while; I’ll leave soon.”

However, Cecilia wanted Blake to stay, ” I still haven’t eaten. Can you eat with me before you leave? I’m really happy that you’re visiting me.

“Someone, please,” Cecilia called the bodyguard outside. She instructed, ”

Take these fruits and wash them.”

Blake said, “I don’t need the fruits.”

Cecilia held Blake’s hand, “You do. Your visit shows that you still care about me. I’m truly happy. It makes me feel the mistreatment I’ve endured doesn’t seem like a big deal anymore.”

Blake lowered her head to look at Cecilia’s hand, which had an IV drip attached and was holding hers. There were clear claw marks on her wrist. She asked, “Did those people do this?”

Cecilia nonchalantly withdrew her hand and stared at Blake, “So, you know what happened? Fred drugged me and had a group of people violate me. They were the ones who did all this to me. If it weren’t for the kind- hearted person who saved me, all you’d see would be my corpse now.”

Cecilia’s words made Blake emotionally distressed. She replied, “Do you know there’s a saying, ‘what goes around, comes around’? Have you ever thought that all of this is your karma?”

Cecilia looked a little sad as she gazed at Blake, “Have I done anything wrong? I did nothing wrong. Madelyn was the person who almost caused Zach to die. And Zach got to where he is now, all thanks to my help. Now that he’s unconscious, I’m just helping to manage the company for him.”

Blake responded, “But you wanted to kill Madelyn!”

Cecilia chuckled, “Did I actually kill her? You always say I’m evil. I don’t know who said things to you that made you harbor such a strong dislike toward me.

“Isn’t Jardin Corporation doing well now? Because of me, the company is still running as usual.

“If you dislike me because of Kevin, he resigned on his own. So, what does that have to do with me?

“Blake, why do you never side with me? Why do you help outsiders to go against me instead?

“Do you really hate me that much?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
