70-Molly’s help
She was taking small sips of her coffee. It had been two days since they were back from their honeymoon, and her desire for Hunter was now making her crazy. It was making her stay awake late.
Lying beside him and then pretending that she was sleeping was becoming a struggle. Thinking of it, she tried to stifle a yawn.
The way he used to talk to her, his smile, his dressing sense, the way he frowned. She did not know how to control this damn stupid feeling which would not let her sleep. She tried to take a sip from her cup and realized that her coffee was finished.
F*ck. Why so soon?
She wanted to throw the cup when she heard muffled words and laughter telling her that she had said it loudly AND she was not alone.
She raised her head and noticed that she was in the conference room full of people and there was a meeting going on. Several pairs of eyes were watching her. Shit. How could I forget that!
She nervously opened her file and started reading it. Mrs. Anna who was sitting beside her, rotated it.
Somebody! Just kill me!
She was trying to read a file that was placed upside down.
“Abigail. You can go to our office cabin if you want.” She heard Hunter’s amused voice. He had somehow guessed that she could not take proper sleep last night. She wanted to die right then and there.
This was not funny at all.
“Hunter. Do you want to laugh? Go ahead.” Hunter’s lips were tightly clenched. He knew she would go mad if he even tried to smile. She stood and taking her things, she started to leave when Mrs. Ann called her in a hushed tone.
“Abigail. Sweetheart, this is my file you are taking.”
Hunter picked up a file to read, but he was clearly trying to hide his smiling face. She felt hurt, “Hunter, how could you even do this? It’s because of you that I am not able to take proper sleep.”
It felt like all hell broke loose. The minute her words were out of her mouth, the whole conference room roared with laughter. She tried to grasp the situation before her.
Run Abi! Get lost!
All the employees sitting there must have got the impression that she and Hunter stayed awake late because…
Well!
She reached the door and in her haste was about to lose her balance when two strong arms not only held her but also scooped her up. She was horrified, “Hunter! Put me down. They are watching.”
But instead of giving any response, Hunter carried her to their office. On the way, she saw a wide-eyed Ava who at once dipped down her head to engross herself in her work. As usual.
Putting her down on a couch, Hunter sat beside her. “Abigail, Go home and get some rest.”
“No, Hunter. I am really fine. It’s just nothing.”
But instead of acknowledging her reply, he used the intercom to call the car and driver. “Come on. Car is ready.” He accompanied her to the car parking. “Be a good girl. Go home and sleep.” He said while kissing her head. She leaned her cheek on his chest, ” Thank you, Hunter.”
“Don’t thank me, sugar, you are my wife.” He hugged her tightly before letting her sit in the car. Ever since they had shifted to the new house, it used to take a little longer to reach home. Before that, reaching penthouse only used to take an elevator ride.
Once seated inside, she dialed Molly’s number.
“Hey, Abigail.”
“Moll, can I come over? I hope I won’t be disturbing your schedule.”
“No, silly. I am waiting.”
After the honeymoon, she was getting up early as Hunter was already an early riser. She used to prepare breakfast and coffee for Hunter and herself. Hunter used to leave early for office and she used to be a little late than him.
Always juggling between her showroom and office. In the evenings she used to make dinner for Hunter. Though they had a full-time chef, she discovered that she liked cooking for her husband.
Mike was looking after her showroom and used to give her daily reports. Her hands were full but she was enjoying her busy schedule. Moreover, Hunter used to be in front of her eyes all the time. Upon reaching Molly’s apartment she sat on the couch with a cushion on her lap.
“Are you alright, Abi?” Molly had concern on her face. “No, I am not.” Abigail shook her head and leaned back her head on the couch.
“Why? What happened?” Molly sat beside her, worry evident on her face.
“Molly. I want him. I swear I want him.”
“What? Who?”
“Hunter! Who else?” she almost growled. Molly smiled. She had already suspected that, “Then why you are here, Abi? Go to him! He is your husband.”
Molly did not know whether to laugh or cry at her friend’s situation. Her friend was feeling desire for her husband.
“It’s not that easy, Molly.” She was trying her best not to give in to her tears.
“Why not?”
“You won’t understand, Molly.”
“Then make me understand, Abigail Levisay.” she flinched at Molly’s stern tone.
“Hunter and I are fake. We are fake…” she was exasperated. She held her head in her hands with frustration.
“Abigail. This is crazy. You are making it sound crazy. Did you talk to him?”
Abigail rolled her eyes. “Talk to him about what? Hey, Hunter let’s jump in the bed and do lala lu!”
Molly started laughing, “Abigail, stop it.”
“I can’t stop it, Moll. I just can’t. It’s getting on my nerves now. Sometimes I just want to tear down his clothes and attack him… Oh my God! Oh my God, Molly! What if I rape him someday? He is my friend and here I am talking about how to undress him! Oh, the poor man!” Abigail hid her face in her palms.
A helpless laugh escaped Molly’s lips, ” Abigail! Listen. Look at me.”
Abigail slowly removed her palms from her face, “Abi. You can’t go to someone else, because you two decided to be faithful to each other. What about a vibrator?”
“What! Gosh! No, Molly! Please! It’s not about any man or a toy. I am craving for “She paused for a minute and then it seemed as if she gave up, ” Him. I want him!”
“Then talk to him.” Molly said softly.
“Molly. He is not ready for a …”
“That’s enough of this bullshit.” Molly raised her voice a little. “He is your husband. Tell him, how you feel. Believe me, he would understand.”
“I am not brave. What if he rejects me?”
“He won’t. If he has needs and if he is being faithful to you, then believe me, Abi. He won’t reject you.”
“He likes blonds.”
“That was before marriage. I have seen how he is literally crazy about you.” Molly sighed “Abigail, everyone around you two, notice that. A man cannot keep a façade twenty-four seven. What if he wants you too and waiting for you.” Abigail had never thought along these lines.
“He does like me but I don’t think he has any desire for me.”
“How do you know? Walk naked around him and see for yourself.”
“Oh. He had seen me naked, Moll.” She rolled her eyes, “And nothing happened.” She closed her eyes in frustration, “NOTHING!”
“Yes, I know. But that was a different situation. Not anymore.”
Abigail was still confused. Nervous.
“What should I do?”
“Observe him, silly!”
“What? Observe him? That’s what I have been doing throughout our honeymoon!”
“Shut up, Abi! Now listen to me. See for yourself. Wear something nice, different! Not too revealing but s3xy. See how he reacts. Especially when he thinks no one is watching him.”
A slow smile crept on Abi’s lips. “I think I know what you are trying to say.”
